The study "Studies on film forming corrosion inhibitors on aluminium alloy, AA2024-T3" presents key aspects of the film forming behaviour of the selected inhibitors and the test methods used to evaluate the inhibitor induced films in a chloride solution. This study also aims to provide significant insights to the film tenacity, the influence of the molecular structure as well as the film stability in the absence of inhibitors to provide a deeper understanding of the film forming and film breakdown mechanisms.

Lentic systems are a diverse set of inland freshwater habitats (Lakes and ponds) exist across the globe and provide essential resources and habitats for both terrestrial and aquatic organisms. The current work was intended to evaluate the quality of the selected ponds (Pond 1, 2 and 3) in and around Vellore district, TamilNadu. The water samples were collected to determine the physical and chemical parameters during every month in the year 2019. Water parameters such as temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, Alkalinity, electrical conductivity, Chloride, Sulphate, Nitrate, Ca, Cl was studied.

An experiment was conducted to generate a broad genetic variability through induced mutation using physical and chemical mutagens. Three doses each of gamma rays (20, 40 and 60kR), ethyl methane sulphonate (0.2, 0.4 and 0.6%), nitrosoguanidine (0.005, 0.010, and 0.015%), maleic hydrazide (0.01, 0.02 and 0.03%) and their combinations were administered to the seed of two greengram varieties, Sujata and OBGG-52.

The study was carried out during 2013-14 in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh state to focus on the sugarcane growers regarding impact of knowledge on adoption level of IPM practices. The 80 contact farmers were selected as respondents. The study revealed that the maximum knowledge gap was found to be existing in previous crop residues, crop rotation, hand picking of the insect and their destruction, hot air and water treatment, light and pheromone trap, microbial control, use of natural enemies, resistant varieties, biopesticides/ bio-agents, application and dose of different pest etc.

Pest control practices in the vegetable crops have been heavily dominated by the routine use of broad-spectrum insecticides to control pests. Concerns have emerged about the adverse consequences of over use of pesticide. These consequences include short and longterm health hazards, contamination and environmental degradation. To minimize the pest losses farmers heavily depend on the chemical pesticides and accessing pest management information from the pesticide dealers due to weak state extension support system.

Regulators of G protein signaling (RGS) proteins modulate G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling networks by terminating signals produced by active Gα subunits. RGS17, a member of the RZ subfamily of RGS proteins, is typically only expressed in appreciable amounts in the human central nervous system, but previous works have shown that RGS17 expression is selectively upregulated in a number of malignancies, including lung, breast, prostate, and hepatocellular carcinoma.

These SAR achievements with virus diseases in tobacco, papaya, chilli, potato and cucumber mean that promising results can be expected if SAR method is applied to RGSD and RRSD in rice. If successful, we can introduce this method to help farmers limit damage when they cannot avoid BPH at the beginning of crop. To reach this aim, the study was conducted in the net-house to find the best effective chemicals in SAR to RGSD if the rice plants were infected early, at 7 days after sowing.

The results of the reaction of selective reduction of NOx by C3H6 on the catalyst Cu/ZSM-5 with the presence of oxygen shown that there was a monotone relation between conversion degree of NOx and the amount of chemically adsorbed NOx [1]. Besides, the existence of amount of irreversiblely adsorbed C3H6 (C3H6ir) on the surface of catalyst Cu/ZSM-5 was detected [2]. The results of the role of C3H6irr towards reduction activity NOx in the studied reaction is presented in this article.

In this paper we address the problem of extracting features relevant for predicting protein±protein interaction sites from the three-dimensional structures of protein complexes. Our approach is based on information about evolutionary con-servation and surface disposition. We implement a neural network based system, which uses a cross validation proce-dure and allows the correct detection of 73% of the residues involved in protein interactions in a selected database comprising 226 heterodimers.

It has previouslybeen shown that IFN-ais apotent inhibitor of IL-2 induced proliferation in primary T-lymphocytes, by selectively abrogating the downstream eects of IL-2 on the core cell cycle machinery regulating the G1/S transition. Theoretically this could be mediated through cross-talk between the signalling cascades activated by these cytokines, as several signalling components are known to be shared.

The vanilloid-like TRP-channel VRL-1 (TRPV2) is a non-selective cation channel expressed by primary sensory neurons and non-neuronal tissues [Caterina, M.J., Rosen, T.A., Tominaga, M., Brake, A.J and Julius, D. (1999) Nature398, 436–441]. It is one of the six members of the vanilloid-like TRP-channel family which is now termed the TRPV family [Montell, G., Birnbaumer, L., Flockerzi, V., Bindels, R.J., Brutford, E.A., Caterina, M.J., Clapham, D.E., Harteneck, C., Heller, S., Julius, D., Kojima, I., Mori, Y., Penner, R., Prawitt, D., Scharenberg, A.M., Schultz, G., Shimizu, N. and Zhu, M.X.

Glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK3) is inactivated by insulin and lithium and, like insulin, Li also activates glycogen synthase (GS)viainhibition of GSK3. Li also mimics insu-lin’s ability to stimulate glucose transport (GT), an obser-vation that has led to the suggestion that GSK3 may coordinate hormonal increases in GT and glycogen synthe-sis. Here we have used Li and SB-415286, a selective GSK3 inhibitor, to establish the importance of GSK3 in the hor-monal activation of GT in terms of its effect on GS in L6 myotubes and3T3-L1adipocytes. ...

The selective manipulation of the expression and replica-tion of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) within mammalian cells has proven difficult. In progressing towards this goal we synthesized a novel mitochondria-targeted DNA-alkylating reagent. The active alkylating moiety [(11aS)-8-hydroxy-7-methoxy-1,2,3,11a-tetrahydro-5H-pyrrolo[2,1-c] [1,4]benzodiazepin-5-one (DC-81)], irreversibly alkylates guanine bases in DNA (with a preference for AGA tri-plets), preventing its expression and replication.
