In this study, we utilize the genome-wide singlenucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) data obtained through Multiplexed Inter Simple Sequence Repeat Genotyping by sequencing (MIG-seq) to explore the phylogenetic relationships among Quercus species in Vietnam. The results of this study reveal that all Quercus species in Vietnam belong to subgenus Cerris and the phylogenetic analysis strongly supports the recognition of two infrageneric sections: Quercus and Ilex section for the Vietnamese Quercus.

Cathelicidins include antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) and are involved in the innate immune defense against infections in mammals. Polymorphisms in the DNA sequence of cathelicidin genes could be relevant to inherited variations of host innate immunity, adaptation, and pathogen resistance. This study aims to investigate the sequence polymorphism of cathelicidin genes including CATHL2 and CATHL4 from local indigenous yellow cattle breeds of Vietnam.

Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) is a genetic variation that occurs when a single nucleotide base in the DNA sequence varies between individuals and is present in at least 1% of the population. Genetic variants in FAM13A are associated with different types of chronic respiratory diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis (CF), and lung cancer.

In this study, we conducted the sequence polymorphisms analysis in the OsHKT1;5 coding region in order to detect the potential allelic variants in some local rice cultivars in Viet Nam. In silico analysis of protein structure and post-translational modifications indicated that amino acid substitutions had no influence on protein structure but led to changes in post-translational modifications such as phosphorylation and SUMOylation.

To develop a method using polymerase chain reaction with confronting two-pair primers (PCR-CTPP) to genotype MTHFR rs1801133 polymorphism in Vietnamese people. Methods: Fifteen DNA samples from a group of Vietnamese people were used to evaluate this assay. The Sanger sequencing method was used to identify the standard genotypes of the rs1801133 polymorphism.

Gout is an inflammatory type of arthritis caused by the deposition of crystals of monosodium urate monohydrate (MSU) in the joints. The arthritis is mediated by the release of proinflammatory cytokines including IL-1β, TNF-α and IL-6 by leukocytes including macrophages.

Assessment of genetic diversity of Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp (cowpea) accessions using informative molecular markers is imperative for their genetic improvement and conservation. The reproducible bands were scored for analyses of dendrograms, principal component analysis, genetic diversity, allele frequency, polymorphic information content, and population structure.

Balancing panicle-related traits such as panicle length and the numbers of primary and secondary branches per panicle, is key to improving the number of spikelets per panicle in rice. Identifying genetic information contributes to a broader understanding of the roles of gene and provides candidate alleles for use as DNA markers.

Spotted wilt, caused by tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV), has been one of major diseases in cultivated peanut grown in the southeastern United States (US) since 1990. Previously a major quantitative trait locus (QTL) controlling spotted wilt disease resistance was mapped to an interval of 2.55 cM genetic distance corresponding to a physical distance of 14.4 Mb on chromosome A01 of peanut by using a segregating F2 population.

Genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS) has emerged as a powerful and cost-effective approach for discovering and genotyping single-nucleotide polymorphisms. The GBS technique was largely used in crop species where its low sequence coverage is not a drawback for calling genotypes because inbred lines are almost homozygous.

B chromosomes (Bs) are additional chromosomal elements found in a wide range of eukaryotes including fungi, plants and animals. B chromosomes are still enigmatic despite being the subject of hundreds, even thousands of reports. As yet there is no comprehensive theory for the biological role of B chromsomes thus, new studies are needed.

Relationships between individuals and inbreeding coefficients are commonly used for breeding decisions, but may be affected by the type of data used for their estimation. The proportion of variants with low Minor Allele Frequency (MAF) is larger in whole genome sequence (WGS) data compared to Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) chips.
