Reproductive performance is critical for efficient swine production. Recent results indicated that vulva size (VS) may be predictive of reproductive performance in sows. Study objectives were to estimate genetic parameters, identify genomic regions associated, and estimate genomic prediction accuracies (GPA) for VS traits.

"Productivity of sorghum (Sorghum bicolar L.) at diverse irrigation regimes and sowing dates in semi-arid and arid environment" was conducted to determine impact of sowing dates, irrigation regimes, and cultivars on yield and growth traits during 2016 and 2017 at two locations in Pakistan. Determining optimal sowing date, optimal number of irrigation applications, and best-performing cultivars is critical to maximizing achievable sorghum yield in semiarid and arid environments.

Vegetative growth traits as well as biological and seed yield of faba bean values were decreased as sowing date delayed beyond the 1st of November. Meanwhile application of 0.60 of (IR) irrigation treatments led to decline vegetative growth traits as well as biological and seed yield. Nevertheless, the 1.00 irrigation treatments gave the highest grain yield.

The output data from the CERES-Wheat model showed that Gemmeiza-9 cultivar recorded the highest observed grain yield in the 1st and 2nd seasons (5352 and 5928 kg ha1 , respectively) and highest predicted grain yield (3957 and 4619 kg ha1 , respectively) in mediate sowing date (mid-November) as compared to other wheat cultivars Misr-1, Sakha-93 and Giza-168.

Results revealed that crop sequence decreased significantly numbers (m2 ) and dry weight of grassy, broad-leaved and total weeds (g/m2 ) in both seasons. Sowing pea after clover/sorghum and clover/peanut decreased the numbers (m2 ) and dry weight of weeds (g/m2 ) and increased significant plant height, number of branches/plant.

A field experiment entitled “Response of sunnhemp (Crotalaria juncea L.) to sowing time and topping for seed production” was conducted during kharif 2016 at C. P. College of Agriculture, S. D. Agricultual University, Sardarkrushinagar. The experiment consisted of four different dates of sowing and four stages of topping at different intervals. These treatments were evaluated under split plot design with four replications.

The main plot treatments comprised three sowings, viz. 22 ºC, 20 ºC and 18 ºC and subplots consisted of eight treatments of bio-regulators, viz. control, water spray, SA @ 100 ppm, SA @ 200 ppm, TSA @ 100 ppm, TSA @ 200 ppm, TGA @ 100 ppm and TGA @ 200 ppm. Crop sown at 20 ºC resulted in significantly highest yield and nutrient content over 22 ºC and 18 ºC. Among bioregulators, an application of salicylic acid @ 200 ppm registered significantly highest yield and nutrient content in grain and straw of wheat, thus, hold a great promise in wheat production under heat stress.

A field experiment was conducted during the rabi seasons of 2016-17 and 2017-18 at Kanpur to study the relative productivity and profitability of intercropping systems on light textured soil under rainfed condition. On the basis of 2 years data revealed that intercropping system, namely, mustard + chickpea additive sowing found superior as compared to other treatments in productivity, water use efficiency, net return and benefit: cost ratio. However, soil moisture content up to one metre depth was recorded

Rapeseed is one of the most important oilseeds crop in Assam, which plays a major role in enhancement the income of marginal and small farmers of Darrang district. One of the major constraints of low productivity of rapeseed farming is using of local varieties. However, delayed sowing & use of higher seed rate resulting into dense plant population, uneven plant population, uncontrolled weeds, ignorance about recommended doses of fertilizers and lack of plant protection measures were the predominant identified causes of low productivity of oilseeds in the district.

We now look at the second major marketing mix tool pricing. If effective product development, promotion, and distribution sow the seeds of business success, effective pricing is the harvest. Firms successful at creating customer value with the other marketing mix activities must still capture some of this value in the prices they earn. In this chapter, we discuss the importance of pricing, dig into three major pricing strategies, and look at internal and external considerations that affect pricing decisions.
