Stable marriage

In this paper, we consider two resource allocation problems. The first one is to maximize the performance of a system in the fog computing environment while maintaining a low cost. In the problem, the resource allocation task will be rewritten as the MAX-SMTI variant (i.e., finding the maximum cardinality stable matching of the stable marriage with ties and incomplete lists).

This paper uses game theory to propose a new worker assignment rule for DRC job shops. The Gale-Shapley model (also known as the stable marriage problem) forms a ‘couple’ made up of a worker and machine following a periodic review strategy. In the NDHS surveys, ‘marriage’ is defined as a stable cohabitation between a man and a woman irrespective of whether or not any validating legal, religious or customary ceremonies had been performed. However, informal unions are relatively uncommon in Nepal. Figure 5.1 shows the percentage of women and men who have never married in 1996, 2001 and 2006 by five-year age cohorts. The data show a consistent decline in the proportions never-married as age increases.
