The Performance-Based Seismic Design (PBSD) is an advanced approach to designing earthquake-resistant structures, ensuring that a building meets specific performance objectives under seismic impacts. Unlike traditional design codes, PBSD aims to predict and control the damage to structures based on defined earthquake levels, minimizing damage and repair costs after an earthquake.

This action research was conducted with a view to understanding the influence of extensive reading on students‟ changed reading motivation. Extensive reading is believed to build up knowledge of vocabulary and structures for reading comprehension. It was hoped that when extensive reading was encouraged, students‟ reading motivation would change and their reading competence would be improved.

The present study investigates teachers‘ perceptions of the values of the CEFR, the perceived readiness and necessity of its application, and the work involved in its application process. Also, it explores teachers‘ responses to the use of the CEFR to renew the general English curriculum, reflected in how they changed their teaching activities, adapted the assigned textbooks and modified their assessment practice. The study was a case study applying the mixed method sequential explanatory model (Creswell & Clark, 2007).

This chapter aims at providing a research background on mobile commerce. Also, this chapter postulates the research gaps. Briefly, it is the if and how the perception of risk and security simultaneously affects continuance intention to use mobile commerce under the influence of considerations of future consequences that generates the need to conduct this study. Also, based on the research gap, this study delineates the research methodology and research scope. Regarding the research methodology, this research includes two studies: the pilot study and the main study.

The structure of peptidase T, or tripeptidase, was deter-mined by multiple wavelength anomalous dispersion (MAD) methodology and re®ned to 2.4 A Ê resolution. Pep-tidase T comprises two domains; a catalytic domainwith an active site containing two metal ions, and a smaller domain formed through a long insertion into the catalytic domain. The twometal ions, presumablyzinc, are separatedby3.3 AÊ , and are coordinated by ®ve carboxylate and histidine ligands.

Modelling of biochemical systems usually focuses on certain pathways, while the concentrations of so-called external metabolites are considered fixed. This approximation ignores feedback loops mediated by the environ-ment, that is, via external metabolites and reactions. To achieve a more realistic, dynamic description that is still numerically efficient, we propose a new methodology: the basic idea is to describe the environment by a lin-ear effective model of adjustable dimensionality.

Cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase catalyzes the formation of a mixture of cyclodextrins from starch by an intramolecular transglycosylation reaction. To manipulate the product specificity of thePaenibacillussp. A11 and Bacillus maceranscyclodextrin glycosyltransferases towards the preferential formation of c-cyclodextrin (CD8), crosslinked imprinted proteins of both cyclodextrin glycosyltransferases were prepared by applying enzyme imprinting and immobilization methodologies.

The structure of human telomeric DNA is controversial; it depends upon the sequence contexts and the methodologies used to determine it. The solution structure in the presence of K + is particularly interesting, but the structure is yet to be elucidated, due to possible conformational heterogen-eity.
