Student’s perspective

This study investigated the perception of students of English at Can Tho University (CTU) in learning literature in English. The study also sought teachers’ opinions and recommendations for more effective literary learning. Seventy-nine students and two teachers teaching literature were invited to participate in the study.

This study, therefore, investigated students’ evaluation of Solutions Pre-intermediate, one textbook belonging to the Solutions series. 256 non-English majors at a public university in Vietnam participated in the study and completed an online 29-item questionnaire which examined their perceptions of the organization, activities, linguistic aspects, and subject and content and their overall evaluation of the textbook.

The study investigates the application of tongue twister as a technique to improve first-year non-English major students through a seven-stage action research process. This study is based on qualitative methods: analysis and synthesis of documents with research content related to integrated teaching or the ability to apply knowledge and skills; observation of groups of 3rd grade students in the process of teaching integrated topics. The article focuses on clarifying perspectives and levels of integrated teaching; concepts and expressions of the ability to apply knowledge and skills.

This study investigates first-year English major students' attitudes toward ER activities, addressing the question: “What are first-year English majors’ perceptions of extensive reading activities?” Despite considerable research interest in ER, students’ perspectives on this activity have not been thoroughly evaluated at the university level, highlighting a significant gap in the literature.

The results show that students who studied the adapted version of the textbook performed better than their peers did without it. Though other uncontrollable factors are considered, the data and the teacher's perspective suggest that textbook adaptation can bolster students’ language proficiency.
