The main objective of this thesis is to illustrate the benefits of using a cultural studies approach in the field of health communication research in Thailand. In this thesis I apply a cultural studies approach to examine the construction of meanings involving drug use and abuse in Thai television advertisements and dramas. The thesis has as its focus analyses of television texts and audience responses.

The aim of the research is to explore the effects of Thai culture on the efficacy of Western modelled performance management (PM) in a cross-cultural setting. Thailand is becoming increasingly important to Australian businesses, particularly in view of the ASEAN Economic Community Plan, which is now in its final stages implementation (ASEAN 2015). The primary data for this study was sourced from 43 semistructured and in-depth interviews with 30 participants.

This study was conducted from September 2006 to September 2007 to identify major pathogens, especially bacteria, of diseased frog (Rana tigerina) farmed in the peri –urban area of Ho Chi Minh City.
