  • This paper proposes an efficient method to determine entire reducts of incomplete decision tables according to the relational database approach. In the complex case, this algorithm has exponential computational complexity. However, this algorithm has polynomial computational complexity in the different cases of databases.

  • We give some examples which show the difference between Fedoryuk set of polynomial functions and Fedoryuk set of differentiable semi-algebraic functions. The existence of local and global error bounds has many applications to other problems, for instance, convergence analysis of algorithms, variational inequalities, sensitive analysis.

  • The limits of current micro-scale technology is approaching rapidly. As the technology is going toward nano-scale devices, physical phenomena involved are fundamentally different from micro-scale ones. Principles in classical physics are no longer powerful enough to explicate the phenomena involved in nano-scale devices. At this stage, quantum mechanic sheds some light on those topics which cannot be described by classical physics. The primary focus of this research work is the development of an analysis technique for understanding the behavior of strongly perturbed harmonic oscillators.

  • Temperature and grain moisture content are the main factors affecting grain spoilage in storage. These factors have a significant impact on the maintenance of quality, insect, fungus, and pest development. The main objective of this study was to determine the CO2 concentration and respiration rate of hulled einkorn wheat in different temperatures (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 °C) and grain moisture contents (9.1%, 11.5%, 13.8%, and 15.9%, wet basis) by means of CO2 sensors.

  • Yang et al. recently developed a user-friendly image-sharing scheme that shares images using many polynomials with different primes. Yang et al. modified the least significant bit (LSB) of original pixels to identify the prime number for sharing. However, the reconstructed image retains some noise. The scheme proposed in this work uses polynomials with different primes to generate pixel shadows without adjusting the LSBs of original pixels, such that the recovery process can reconstruct a high-quality original image using the Lagrange interpolation function.

  • The objective of this present study was to obtain optimized conditions for calculating cassava starch properties using response surface methodology (RSM). In this study, BoxBehnken response surface design (BBD) was used to optimize cassava starch properties (3 independent process factors at 3 levels with 17 runs) and to evaluate the main, linear and combined effects of cassava starch extraction conditions. The independent process variables selected in this study were sonication temperature (30, 40, 50°C), sonication time (10, 20, 30 min) and solid-liquid ratio (1:10, 1:20, 1:30 g/ml).

  • An attempt was made to study the soil water movement under two type of plastic mulch (black and white) with drip irrigated eggplant on a line source dripper. Both spatial and temporal variation of wetting pattern was determined in sandy loam soil using surfer 15 software. The layout of the experiment was three treatments tested, black mulched drip irrigation (BM+DI), white mulched drip irrigation (WM+DI) and drip irrigation without mulching. The results of the study indicated that DI + BM and DI + WM treatments distinctly decreased water applied in the order of DI + WM < DI + BM < DI.

  • Tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa L.) occupies a very selective and special position among the ornamental bulbous plants which are valued much by the aesthetic world for beauty and fragrance. Tuberose is cultivated in large scale in many tropical and subtropical countries including India. It is an important cash crop in India and commercial cultivation is taking place in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and West Bengal. During 2014-15 total area under tuberose in India was 6.82 thousand hectares producing 42.74 thousand MT and 5.93 lakhs pikes (Anonymous, 2015).

  • The primary need of water resource development in any area depends on estimation of rainfall at different probabilities for efficient planning and design of irrigation and drainage systems, command area development, soil and water conservation programmes and the optimum utilization of water resources in various agricultural production systems. The annual maximum daily rainfall data of 18 years (1991 to 2008) was obtained from ARS, Mulde. It was analyzed for maximum one day and extended days (up to 6 day) rainfall for Mulde.

  • Formulae expressing explicitly the q-difference derivatives and the moments of the polynomials Pn(x ; q) ∈ T (T ={Pn(x ; q) ∈ Askey–Wilson polynomials: Al-Salam-Carlitz I, Discrete q-Hermite I, Little (Big) q-Laguerre, Little (Big) q-Jacobi, q-Hahn, Alternative q-Charlier) of any degree and for any order in terms of Pi(x ; q) themselves are proved. We will also provide two other interesting formulae to expand the coefficients of general-order q-difference derivatives Dp q f (x), and for the moments xDp q f (x), of an arbitrary function f(x) in terms of its original expansion coefficients.

  • The aim of this study was to develop and optimize Trimetazidine dihydrochloride (TM) controlled porosity osmotic pump (CPOP) tablets of directly compressed cores. A 23 full factorial design was used to study the influence of three factors namely: PEG400 (10% and 25% based on coating polymer weight), coating level (10% and 20% of tablet core weight) and hole diameter (0 ‘‘no hole’’ and 1 mm). Other variables such as tablet cores, coating mixture of ethylcellulose (4%) and dibutylphthalate (2%) in 95% ethanol and pan coating conditions were kept constant.

  • Let Pk be the graded polynomial algebra F2[x1, x2,...,xk] with the degree of each generator xi being 1, where F2 denote the prime field of two elements, and let GLk be the general linear group over F2 which acts regularly on Pk. We study the algebraic transfer constructed by Singer [1] using the technique of the Peterson hit problem. This transfer is a homomorphism from the homology of the mod-2 Steenrod algebra A, TorA k,k+d(F2, F2), to the subspace of F2⊗APk consisting of all the GLk-invariant classes of degree d.

  • We present a full Nesterov-Todd (NT) step infeasible interior point algorithm for second-order cone optimization based on a different way to calculate feasibility direction. In each iteration of the algorithm we use the largest possible barrier parameter value θ. Moreover, each main iteration of the algorithm consists of a feasibility step and a few centering steps. The feasibility step differs from the feasibility step of the other existing methods. We derive the complexity bound which coincides with the best known bound for infeasible interior point methods.

  • We present a syntax-based statistical translation model. Our model transforms a source-language parse tree into a target-language string by applying stochastic operations at each node. These operations capture linguistic differences such as word order and case marking. Model parameters are estimated in polynomial time using an EM algorithm. The model produces word alignments that are better than those produced by IBM Model 5. is conditioned only on word classes and positions in the string, and the duplication and translation are conditioned only on the word identity. ...
