This paper proposes a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model aiming to optimize the topology of transmission networks considering power loss. The proposed MILP model is converted from the MINLP model using the piecewise linearization technique and precisely linearizing the product of the binary and continuous variables. The objective function of the TNEP problem in this study is to minimize the total cost of the power system, including the investment cost for new transmission lines, maintenance cost, cost related to energy losses loss, and production cost of generators.

The study used a semi-structured interview method, the Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs (InVEST) tool and general linear models to investigate the influence of natural and human-derived components on the rice provisioning service at six villages. The results showed that along with the importance of applying a fertilizer-based system in the terraced rice ecosystem, topology- and hydrology-based systems have been influencing significantly on water and nutrient supply for irrigation on terraced rice fields.

We discuss how chaos conditions on maps carry over to their products. First we give a counterexample showing that the product of two chaotic maps (in the sense of Devaney) need not be chaotic. We then remark that if two maps (or even one of them) exhibit sensitive dependence on initial conditions, so does their product, likewise, if two maps possess dense periodic points, so does their product.

The Rv0948c gene fromMycobacterium tuberculosisH37Rv encodes a 90 amino acid protein as the natural gene product with chorismate mutase (CM) activity. The protein, 90-MtCM, exhibits Michaelis–Menten kinetics with akcat of 5.5 ± 0.2 s )1 and a Kmof 1500 ± 100lmat 37C and pH 7.5. A catalytic turnover of supercoiled DNA (scDNA) transformation medi-ated by topoisomerases leads to changes in the linking number (Lk) of the polymeric substrate by 1 or 2 per cycle.
