The main contribution of this paper is to show a new AC/DC converter based on the rearrangement of the flyback converter. The proposed circuit only manages part of the energy and the rest is delivered directly from the source to the load. Therefore, with the new topology, the efficiency is increased, and the stress of the components is reduced. The rearrangement consist of the secondary of the flyback is placed in parallel with the load, and this arrangement is connected in series with the primary side and the rectified voltage source.

This paper proposes a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model aiming to optimize the topology of transmission networks considering power loss. The proposed MILP model is converted from the MINLP model using the piecewise linearization technique and precisely linearizing the product of the binary and continuous variables. The objective function of the TNEP problem in this study is to minimize the total cost of the power system, including the investment cost for new transmission lines, maintenance cost, cost related to energy losses loss, and production cost of generators.

This paper illustrates the scheme of integrating of photo-voltaic (PV) system as distributed generation to micro-grid. PV system is integrated to grid with three-level inverter and five-level cascaded H-Bridge inverter to invert the type of supply synchronized to grid. Inverter will be controlled with simple current control strategy. In this Smart Grid network, a Smart Grid node can receive and send data to Smart Grid centre through a Smart Grid network gateway.
