The data was recorded on five randomly selected plants for ten quantitative and four grain quality characters. The analysis of variance showed significant differences for 14 characters studied, indicating the presence of high genetic variability among the progenies.

  • In this paper, an improved version of Differential Evolution algorithm, called iDE, is introduced to solve design optimization problems of composite laminated beams. The beams used in this research are Timoshenko beam models computed based on analytical formula. The iDE is formed by modifying the mutation and the selection step of the original algorithm. Particularly, individuals involved in mutation were chosen by Roulette wheel selection via acceptant stochastic instead of the random selection.

  • Geo-statistics is an important tools extensively used for analyzing the spatial variability, interpolating between point observations and ascertaining the interpolated values with specified error using a minimum number of observations. GPS based two hundred seventy two surface soil samples were collected randomly from agricultural area of Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh under AICRP on MSN project. Results recorded that the73.90, 26.10, 77.57, 64.71, 93.01 and 25.37 per cent soil samples were found to be deficient in N, P, K, S, Zn, and Fe respectively.

Total sample constituted of 240 adolescents in the age group of 16-18 years, 120 from rural area and 120 from urban area, representing both the sexes in equal number. Selfprepared interview schedule was used to collect information on personal and socioeconomic variables. Family environment was assessed by Family Environment Scale (FES) by Bhatia and Chadha (1993).

  • The present study was carried out during Late kharif, 2016 at College of Horticulture, Anantharajupeta. The experiment was conducted with an objective to identify divergent genotypes to be used as donor parents in crop improvement. Thirty-two genotypes along with two checks were evaluated in a randomized block design with three replications and the data on 25 yield and yield attributing traits were recorded. The analysis of variance revealed significant differences among all genotypes indicating the presence of sufficient amount of variability for the characters studied.

  • Collar rot of chilli caused by Sclerotium rolfsii Sacc. is currently occurring in chilli growing areas of Marathwada region in India. The genetic diversity among eight chilli S. rolfsii isolates collected from eight districts covering various geographic areas of Marathwada region of Maharashtra state were analysed using random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) using five random primers.
