The aim of this study was to design and characterize a NdFeO3-based photocatalyst prepared by sol-gel method for treatment of oily wastewater. Different characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), UV–vis spectrophometer were used to elucidate the structure, morphology, surface functional groups, and optical absorption properties of the prepared NdFeO3 photocatalyst.

Novel g-C3N4/InVO4 materials were synthesized by a fabricated via hydrothermal and heating methods. The physicochemical properties of the photocatalysts were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy (IR), Photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-Vis-DRS) and Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX).

In this study, the sol-gel method was successfully used to synthesize S-TiO2 for efficient photocatalytic degradation of Ciprofloxacin solution under visible irradiation. These synthesized materials were characterized by various analytical methods such as XRD, SEM-EDX, FT-IR, and UV diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS).

Synthesis and investigation of photocatalytic and CO2 photoreductive properties of Ag/TiO2 nanowires
Silver nanoparticles with the diameter of 5 – 10 nm were successfully deposited on TiO2 nanowires by a facile and low-cost photoreduction method in alkaline solution under UV irradiation. The mutual coordination between light irradiation and NH4OH reduction gives rise to the formation and decoration of the Ag nanoparticles on the surface of TiO2 nanowires.

TiO2-Graphene Oxide-Hemin (TiO2/GO/Hemin) ternary composite hybrid material was prepared by the sol-gel method and used as a heterogeneous catalyst for the photocatalytic degradation of organic contaminants. In this paper, oxidation of red methyl (MR) - an azo in dye by UV / H2O2 was studied. The effect of solution volume and initial concentration was studied. Under optimal conditions, project a UV light through the bottom of the solution containing MR. The rate of color change is proportional to the increase of H2O2 concentration. After 50 minutes, the decolorization effect with 16 ppm H2O2 is 38%, slightly higher than the content of 14 ppm H2O2.

The photocatalytic oxidation of reactive blue 2 and reactive red 120 has been studied by using TiO2 Degussa P25 as catalyst and UV-light. The formation of intermediate molecules could be predicted on the basic of point charge calculations on all the individual atoms of the dyes. The agreement between calculations from quantum theory and the results of experiments was the background to establish a pathway for degradation of reactive dyes. A plausible mechanism of dye photodegradations is discussed.

Titanium oxide ST01, ST31, TiO2 catalysts modified by V5+, N2+ and supported on MCM41 and SiO2 have been used for photooxidation of p-xylene in gas phase. Physicochemical properties of catalysts were determined by the methods of BET Adsorption, Xray Diffraction (XRD), UV-Vis spectroscopy, and atom adsorption spectroscopy (AAS) methods. The photocatalytic activity of catalysts were determined after thermal treatment as well as UV lighting. The common observation is that the higher temperature of treatment the lower conversion of p-xylene obtained.

The photo catalytic efficiency of some TiO2 films (TiO2-ST01; TiO2-P25; TiO2 sol-gel) immobilized on glass has been investigated for the degradation of phenol in aqueous solution under UV light. It was shown that the best result obtained with TiO2-ST01 film, where the mineralization was the highest (70% TOC was removed after 3 hours of irradiations) and that related to the smaller particle size and the bigger surface areas of the TiO2-ST01 particles compared with TiO2-P25 and TiO2 sol-gel films. The effect of pH and phenol concentration were discussed.

TiO2 thin film with nanoporous structure are prepared from colloidal suspension containing polyethylen glycol (PEG) via Sol-Gel method. The effect of PEG addition to the precursor solution on the surface structures and photocatalytic activity of the resultant thin films are studied. The larger the amount of PEG added to to the precursor solution, the larger the size and number of pores produced in the resultant films when PEG added to the gel films decomposed completely during heat-treatment.

Porcine heart cytoplasmic malate dehydrogenase (s-MDH) is a dimeric protein (2 · 35 kDa). We have studied equilibrium unfolding and refolding of s-MDH using activity assay, fluorescence, far-UV and near-UV circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy, hydrophobic probe-1-anilino8-napthalene sulfonic acid binding, dynamic light scattering, and chromatographic (HPLC) techniques. The unfolding and refolding transitions are reversible and show the presence of two equilibrium intermediate states.
