In this study, a hydroxyapatite (HA) based scaffold was used together with human adipose stem cells (hASCs), human bone marrow stem cells (hBMSCs) and gingival epithelial cells to mimic human tooth dentin-pulp-enamel tissue complexes and model an immature tooth at the late bell stage in vitro. Characteristics of the scaffold were determined via SEM, FTIR, pore size and density measurements. Changes in gene expression, protein secretions and tissue histology resulting from cross-interactions of different dental tissues grown in the system were shown.

The survey questionnaire was developed and distributed to 250 respondents, out of which 201 valid responses were used for further statistical analysis. Results suggest that social influence and perceived risk are significant factors that contribute to the intention of consumers on mobile payment. The findings of the research are valuable for mobile payment providers to develop and extend the number of users in Vietnam.

Investigation indicates that valuable effects of biochar could be obtained if it was applied with mycorrhiza. Combined application of biochar (10 t ha-1 soil), phosphorus along with mycorrhiza produced significantly higher uptake of nutrients in baby corn. Biochars are highly variable in nutrient composition and availability, which are determined by types of feedstock and pyrolysis conditions. The results suggest that high-ash biochars with phosphorus are potential P sources with high-agronomic efficiency.

Phellinus gilvus (Schwein.) Pat, a species of ‘Sanghuang’, has been well-documented for various medicinal uses, but the genome information and active constituents are largely unknown. Flax fiber (Linen fiber), a valuable and inexpensive material was used as sorbent material in the uptake of uranium ion for the safe disposal of liquid effluent. Flax fibers were characterized using BET, XRD, TGA, DTA and FTIR analyses, and the results confirmed the ability of flax fiber to adsorb uranium. The removal efficiency reached 94.50% at pH 4, 1.2 g adsorbent dose and 100 min in batch technique. Adsorption results were fitted well to the Langmuir isotherm. The recovery of U (VI) to form yellow cake was investigated by precipitation using NH4OH (33%).

Development of SNPs (Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms) marker is an important step to initiate the molecular breeding and genetic based studies. Identification and validation of polymorphic SNP will be valuable resource for gene tagging through linkage mapping/QTL mapping. In present study, two ecological ecotypes of Arabidopsis thaliana i.e. Col-0 and Don-0 exhibited variation at phenotypic level (leaf, flower, siliques and root related traits) and genotypic level (SNPs). Out of 500 SNPs, total 365 polymorphic SNPs were validated on Sequenome MassARRAY.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of laser acupuncture combined with a diet-exercise intervention on features of the metabolic syndrome (MetS). Twenty-eight obese post-menopausal women were randomly distributed to the control and laser acupuncture group. The control group received the diet-exercise intervention and the study group received the same intervention and sessions of laser acupuncture, 3 times/week for 12 weeks.
