Vietnam has made significant progress in its energy sector with widespread electrification and a diverse energy mix dominated by hydropower, gas, and coal. However, to sustain these achievements and meet climate targets, substantial investments, especially in renewables, are needed. Failing to do so will increase reliance on imported coal, with negative environmental, health, and economic impacts. Recommendations include fostering private investment and strengthening the domestic financial market to support the energy sector’s funding needs.

In ebook "Confronting corruption, building accountability: Lessons from the world of international development advising" the crisis that nearly brought the world's financial house down in 2008 demonstrated clearly that the global economy cannot work where there is widespread deception, corruption and lack of accountability. Corruption and lack of accountability are also key reasons why international development assistance so often fails to deliver on its promise.

They present a scalable international solution to a global challenge; and are likely the only viable solution to the widespread lack of solid waste services and infrastructure across low- and middle-income countries. The article proposes using the environmental and wider risk posed by this pollution to target interventions to support these recyclers and benefit the environment.

This study aims at examining how English has been used at work and what industries have actually needed in terms of their staff’s English communicative competence for the current globalization. For these purposes, the research methodology was constructed with the main use of questionnaire survey and interviews with 126 employees and managers from 11 corporates in central Vietnam.

Affected by global economic pressure and epidemics, sustainable agriculture has received widespread attention from farmers and agricultural engineers. Throughout history, agricultural technology has closely followed the pace of scientific and technological development and has followed the footsteps of mechanization, automation, and intelligence to progress continuously. At this stage, artificial intelligence (AI) is dominating the field of agriculture and advancing the progress of sustainable agriculture.

Glaesserella parasuis, the causative agent of Glӓsser’s disease, is widespread in swine globally resulting in significant economic losses to the swine industry. Prevention of Glӓsser’s disease in pigs has been plagued with an inability to design broadly protective vaccines, as many bacterin based platforms generate serovar or strain specific immunity.

The spread of drug-resistant bacterial pathogens poses a major threat to global health. It is widely recognised that the widespread use of antibiotics has generated selective pressures that have driven the emergence of resistant strains. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) was first observed in 1960, less than one year after the introduction of this second generation beta-lactam antibiotic into clinical practice.

In streptococci of the mitis group, competence for natural transformation is a transient physiological state triggered by competence stimulating peptides (CSPs). Although low transformation yields and the absence of a widespread functional competence system have been reported for Streptococcus mitis, recent studies revealed that, at least for some strains, high efficiencies can be achieved following optimization protocols. To gain a deeper insight into competence in this species, we used RNA-seq, to map the global CSP response of two transformable strains: the type strain NCTC12261T and SK321.

Global RNA sequencing technologies have revealed widespread RNA polymerase II (Pol II) transcription outside of gene promoters. Small 5′-capped RNA sequencing (Start-seq) originally developed for the detection of promoter-proximal Pol II pausing has helped improve annotation of Transcription Start Sites (TSSs) of genes as well as identification of non-genic regulatory elements.

Among all the micro nutrient deficiencies, World Health Organization (WHO) had identified Vitamin A deficiency as the more dangerous and widespread micronutrient deficiencies in the world. In order to address this global problem, biofortification of Maize is considered to be a cost effective and sustainable approach. The present study was carried out to raise and identify high β- carotene maize lines of BC1F2 (UMI 1200 × HP 467-15)- C15-S79 population by phenotyping using HPLC along with genotyping of crtRB1 allele.

Globally, micronutrient malnutrition alone affecting more than two billion people, mostly among resource-poor families in developing countries, with Zn, Fe, I and vitamin A deficiencies most prevalent. Approximately, five million children dies micronutrient malnutrition every year. Currently, micronutrient malnutrition is considered to be the most serious threat and global challenge to human kind and it is avoidable. Among different micronutrients, zinc and iron deficiency is a well-documented problem in food crops due to which crop yields and nutritional quality decreases.

In spite of widespread political and economic constraints imposed on global tourism development during last few decades, world tourism industry has emerged as one of the fastest growing single industries in the world. Its performance has been highly acclaimed to the comparable performances of many other export industries during the same period. At present, global tourism industry represents around 11% of the world’s GDP, around 8% of global employment and around 9% of global wages. It is also the largest single employment generator of the world economy today.
