In the present study copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs) were synthesized using a hydrothermal method with ranolazine as a shape-directing agent. Ranolazine-functionalized CuO NPs were characterized by various analytical techniques such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The SEM pattern confirmed the morphology of ranolazine-functionalized CuO NPs with well-defined rice-like structures. FTIR spectroscopy confirmed the interaction between CuO NPs and ranolazine.

The study was carried out for 210 days to compare the growth, survival, production and economic performance of Pangasianodon hypophthalmus in cages and ponds. The fingerlings of P.hypophthalmus (71.47 ± 0.84 g wt. and 18.83 ± 0.52 cm length) were stocked at 50, 60 and 70 fingerlings/m3 in nine cages (6 x 4 x 3 m3 ) and they were stocked at 5, 6 and 7 fingerlings/m3 in nine ponds (50 x 30 m2 and 1.2 m depth) following three treatments with triplicates for both cages and ponds.

In the present study, 3 mongrel dogs were taken for semen collection. Total of 18 ejaculates were collected, 6 from each dog by digital manipulation. All the collected samples were randomly divided into three Groups viz. Group I (Non-extended semen), Group II (Semen extended with egg yolk tris citrate fructose extender) and Group III (Sperm pellet extended with egg yolk tris citrate fructose extender) and kept at refrigeration temperature (4oC). In Group III semen is centrifuged at 720 x g for 5 minutes by centrifuge machine Tarsons Spinwin MC05-R for making of sperm pellet.

The mineral component of kaolin clay in Tung Ba commune analyzed by X-ray diffraction is composed mainly of kaolinite (24–27%), illite (26–30%) and quartz (40–44%). Chemical composition (wt%) of Tung Ba kaolin determined by X-ray fluorescence (XRF) shows SiO2 at 59.92–64.98, Al2O3: 18.95–20.82, Fe2O3: 2.28–3.95, SO3: 2.47–4.66, CaO: 0.12–0.36, MgO: 1.72–2.13 and TiO2 at 0.75–1,08. To fabricate geopolymer ceramic, kaolin clay was transformed into metakaolin with the optimal parameters of calcination: the temperature at 750°C and heating time of 120 min.

Field experiment was conducted during Rabi season of 2017-18 with nine modules, replicated thrice, in the ‘Randomized Block Design’ with gross plot size 4.00 m x 3.00 m.As regards with melon fruit fly infestation, the module M7 (15.82 per cent) was found most effective at1 st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5 th pickings. The next best module M4 (19.43 per cent) and M5 (22.12 per cent). The module M7 (23.82 per cent) was found most superior in reducing American serpentine leaf miner population at 25, 45 and 65 days after sowing. Followed by module M4 (25.80 per cent) and M5(28.74 per cent).

But the crop grown in rainy season has a better demand and is much remunerative for the farmer. Investigations aiming at genetic improvement in Adenium obesum, a popular flowering pot plant were carried out at Advance Technology Centre of soilless system, department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, NAU, Navsari. Hybridization was initiated with ten parents (seven females and three males) in 2014 and their crosses were studied during 2015 to 2016. Among the crosses studied, a germplasm viz., SDSH1 (Sudarshan x Double Sweet Heart) showed novel morphological character for multipetalous form having attractive bright red coloured fifteen petals.

Indian soils are rich in microbial diversity, especially fluorescent pseudomonads (FPs) have drawn much attention worldwide because of their plant growth promotion ability by the production of plant growth promoting substance like Indole acetic acid (IAA). In this context, the present study explored for optimization and characterization of IAA production by our isolate Pseudomonas sp VSMKU 4050. The maximum IAA production was observed in King’s B broth (KBB) supplemented with 0.7% L – tryptophan.

Field experiment was conducted during Kharif from 2010 to 2015 at GKVK, Bangalore to know the feasibility of cultivation of fingermillet in Melia dubia. There were six treatment combinations comprising intercrop of finger millet planted in different spacings with Melia dubia and finger millet alone as control. Results revealed that, sole finger millet recorded significantly higher grain (26.1 q ha-1 ) and straw yield (5865 kg ha-1 ), which was attributed to higher growth and yield attributes like number of productive tillers (6.17 hill-1 ) and 1000 seed weight (3.69 g).

Soil loss was estimated from agricultural lands of South Andaman district in tropical Bay Islands applying Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). Mean annual rate of soil loss to the tune of 184.1 X 103 tons was estimated from the crop fields of the district covering 1747.0 ha area at the rate of 105.38 t ha-1 yr-1 . Nghiên cứu được tiến hành với mục tiêu nhằm đánh giá hiệu quả của Moxifloxacin (Vigamox 0,5%) trong điều trị viêm loét giác mạc (VLGM) do vi khuẩn (VK).
