The present study investigated the photodegradation of 2,4- Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) in a water environment using synthesized titania nanoparticles (TiO2-NPs). The TiO2-NPs fabricated by sol-gel method were distinguished by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Infrared spectroscopy (IR), and zeta potential measurements.

Corrosion can be controlled by isolation of the metal from the corrosive environment. Isolation of corrodible metals from corrosive environments is probably the most general method of the corrosion protection afforded by paint films, sealers and lining on base materials. Fluoropolymers provide superior chemical resistance and are used in a variety of markets.

AnN-acyl-D-amino acid amidohydrolase (N-D-AAase) was identified in cell extracts of a strain, Iso1, isolated from an environment containing N-acetyl-D-methionine. The bac-terium was classified as Variovorax paradoxusby phylo-genetic analysis. The gene was cloned and sequenced. The gene consisted of a 1467-bpORF encoding a polypeptide of 488 amino acids. TheV.

As a first step toward developing a zebrafish model for investigating the role of sulfation in counteracting environ-mental estrogenic chemicals, we have embarked on the identification and characterization of cytosolic sulfotrans-ferases (STs) in zebrafish. By searching the zebrafish expressed sequence tag database, we have identified two cDNA clones encoding putative cytosolic STs. These two zebrafish ST cDNAs were isolated and subjected to nuc-leotide sequencing. Sequence data revealed that the two zebrafishSTs are highlyhomologous, being82%identical in their amino acid sequences....

The metalloendopeptidase 24.15 (EP24.15) is ubiquitously present in the extracellular environment as a secreted protein. Outside the cell, this enzyme degrades several neuropeptides containing from 5 to 17 amino acids (e.g. gonadotropin releasing hormone, bradykinin, opioids and neuro-tensin). The constitutive secretion of EP24.15 from glioma C6 cells was demonstrated to be stimulated linearly by reduced concentrations of extra-cellular calcium.

Structural information on partially folded forms is important for a deeper understanding of the folding mechanism(s) and the factors affecting protein stabilization. The non-native compact state of equine cytochromecstabil-ized by salts in an acidic environment (pH 2.0–2.2), called the A-state, is considered a suitable model for the molten globule of cytochromec, asit possesses a native-likea-helix conformation but a fluctuating tertiary struc-ture.

One of the most challenging questions in modern plant science is how plants regulate their morphological and developmental adaptation in response to changes in their biotic and abiotic environment. A comprehen-sive elucidation of the underlying mechanisms will help shed light on the extremely efficient strategies of plants in terms of survival and propagation.

Introduction - Regulatory Aspects All pesticides sold or distributed in the United States (US) must be registered with the EPA (US Environmental Protection Agency) for the intended uses and must have safety data to show that they can be used without posing unreasonable risks to humans and the environment. Ethephon (2-chloroethylphosphonic acid) is classified as an organophosphate pesticide.
