This research aims to enhance comprehension of legal texts by applying Talmy's (2017) threestep process for identifying and integrating referents from contextual cues into linguistic forms. Drawing on pragmatics, discourse analysis, cognitive semantics, and Talmy's force dynamics notion, a qualitative content analysis investigates the cognitive processes readers use for cue detection, attention allocation, and semantic integration when reading court indictments.

In this paper, a membership function of the form S-function is applied to improve the quality of extracted linguistic summaries. Besides, the applied algorithm is parallelized to reduce running time. The experimental results with the creep dataset have demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The study "A genre analysis of abstracts of MA theses in English Linguistics" explores to what extent the Vietnamese learners of English as a foreign language (EFL) apply the knowledge that they have formally learned in the Writing and the Doing scientific research courses to writing their MA graduation theses; the focus is on the abstract. From the perspective of genre analysis, this study aims to describe the structural features of this genre. Data for the investigation is 30 abstracts bounded in the master theses written in English by Vietnamese learners.

An applied radical semantics offers some operational solutions for ambiguous syntactic situations. This paper summarizes stratificational theory, and applies its linguistic methods in a sememic analysis of English prepositions. The phenomenon of interlocking diversification is shown to be quite generally present among the prepositions. Also, the analysis of prepositions is shown to entail a partial sememic analysis of other words; it therefore provides a starting point for the sememic analysis, on stratificational principles, of the rest of the language.
