The world has already undergone several health-related upheavals that have drawn the attention among which obesity. It is an important public health problem as well in developed as in developing countries. In order to sustainably manage this disease and associated damages, medicinal plants could be an alternative solution to synthetic drugs which can present side effects.

The results showed that the percentage of disease incidence was increased in non treated tomato seedlings in time dependent manner and reached the maximum level (65%) after 6 weeks of infection. Treatments of tomato plants with neem and willow aqueous extracts reduced the percentage of disease incidence to the level of 25.5% and 27.8% after 6 weeks of infection respectively.

The present study intended to investigate the effect of aqueous extract from Calotropis procera L. on growth of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) and some pathogenic microorganisms (Escherichia coli L. and Staphylococcus aureus R.) by the laboratory experiments. Also, phytochemical screening of aqueous extract of C. procera was qualitatively tested for the presence of some bioactive compounds (alkaloids, phenolics, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, sterols and terpenoids).

The corrosion inhibition of mild steel alloys is of tremendous technological importance due to their increased industrial applications. Potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques were used to establish the effect of different concentrations of HCl on the corrosion behavior of mild steel. A study was conducted on the inhibition of dissolution for a mild steel alloy in the most corrosive concentration of HCl (5 M) by adding different concentrations of aqueous extract of Hibiscus sabdariffa plant (named karkade or rosselle) as an ecofriendly inhibitor.

The presented work demonstrates the preparation of copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) via aqueous leaves extract of Ziziphus mauritiana L. (Zm) using hydrazine as a reducing agent. Various parameters such as volume of extract, concentration of hydrazine hydrate, concentration of copper chloride, and pH of the solution were optimized to obtain Ziziphus mauritiana L. leaves extract derived copper nanoparticles (Zm-CuNPs).

Tapinanthus dodoneifolius (Loranthaceae) is an epiphytic parasitic plant used in the treatment of cholera, asthma, hypertension, and diabetes. The general objective of this study was to evaluate the antidiabetic properties of the aqueous extract of the leaves of T. dodoneifolius (Loranthaceae) in the Wistar rat. Type 1 diabetes was induced by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin into the single dose of 60 mg/kg.

Crateva adansonii is a plant species belonging to the family; Capparaceae, with multiple therapeutic uses in the traditional settings, including diabetes. The objective of this study was to evaluate the antiradical and anti-hyperglycaemic properties of the aqueous extract of the bark of the trunk of Crateva adansonii. The anti-hyperglycaemic properties of the extract was evaluated by the inhibition test of α-amylase and α-glucosidase enzymes in vitro confirmed by an in vivo study, on starch and sucrose tolerance tests using acarbose as witness.

Response surface methodology was applied to optimize the extraction of phenolic compounds from fresh Pouzolzia zeylanica plant using hot water as a solvent. A central composite design (CCD) in form (23+star) was used to investigate the effects of two independent variables, namely, extraction temperature (70 to 90oC) and extraction time (20 to 40 min).

The bio molecules present in plants can act as capping and reducing agents and thus increase the rate of reduction and stabilization of nanoparticles. Biosynthesized metal nanoparticles are more stable in nature and their rate of synthesis is faster than other methods. The present study describes the green synthesis of metal nanoparticles and their characterization.

In present study Vitex negundo leave’s extract was used to assess the antibacterial activity on cotton fabric. Extraction of phytochemicals was carried out using different solvents like ethanol and aqueous. Total phenolic content (TPC) results revealed that TPC of Vitex negundo leave’s extract were highest in case of ethanolic extraction as compared to aqueous. It was observed that mild to moderate antibacterial properties were present in ethanolic extract as compared to aqueous extract. Clear zone of inhibition was observed on cotton fabric against E coli and S. aureus.
