In this paper, we proposed an error resilience scheme for wireless video coding based on adaptive Flexible Macroblock Ordering (FMO) and intra refresh. An FMO explicit map is generated frame-by-frame using prior information. This information involves estimated locations of guard and burst section in the channel and estimated effect of error propagation (EEP) from the previous frame to the current frame.

In this paper, we propose a method that uses the non-uniform Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to compensate for Doppler frequency shifts in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based underwater acoustic (UWA) communication systems. To estimate the Doppler frequency shift, the paper proposes using a pilot carrier frequency (PCF) that is identified by transmitting with greater power in the frequency domain compared to other subcarriers.

This paper examines the impact of oil price volatility on macroeconomic performance in fourteen non-oil exporting Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) economies using panel ARDL model for the period 1980-2015. It also looks at the channels through which oil price volatility transmit to the three major sectors of their economies. The panel ARDL estimate indicates how persistent oil price volatility prevailed on the economy by measuring the short run and long run effects.

The study is an attempt to examine empirically the effects of oil price shock on current account imbalances. The analysis is carried out on the crosscountry panel of 160 countries that are divided into three different groups base on their level of oil imports. The relationship between the oil price shock and current account imbalances is rigorously assessed using two different approaches. This paper studies China’s stock prices in the framework of consumption-based capital asset pricing models (CCAPM). Using China’s quarterly stock market data from 1991 to 2019, we estimate and compare four versions of CCAPM: the classical CCAPM, CCAPM with housing service consumption, with habit formation, and with both. We find habit formation affects stock returns only if housing service consumption is considered. Further, although every model is consistent with data to certain extent, the models with habit formation perform substantially better.

This paper investigates the determinants of banking system fragility by underlining the impact of bank liberalization on banking stability during the process of financial liberalization in emerging and developed countries. To this effect, we adopted a panel model with spatial dependency from a transmission channel points towards trade interactions to estimate the parameters of the model on a panel of 40 emerging and developed countries during 1989-2010. The empirical results suggest that financial liberalization has the tendency to stimulate the banking instability in economies.

The study was conducted in Thoubal district of Manipur state with the overall objectives of the cost and return analysis, resource use efficiency, marketing efficiency and its problems during production and marketing. The research is based on the data collected by using proportionate sampling from a total of 100 dairy farm sample households comprising of 60 Crossbred and 40 Local cows. Net maintenance cost for a milking crossbred cow was Rs. 161.71 and for a milking local cow was Rs. 55.42 per day, respectively. Net return per day from a crossbred milking cow was Rs. 166.
