This paper is aimed at examining Vietnam Payment Solutions (VNPAY), a significant fintech business in digital payments. Data is collected from expert interviews. The research team applies the methodology of analysing VNPAY’s sources of competitive advantage. The key results are that VNPAY’s competitive advantage originates from innovative technology, a large merchant/bank network, powerful data analytics, strategic alliances, operational efficiency, regulatory knowledge, talented staff, and a strong brand recognition.

An unbalanced data set of 407 Greek manufacturing SMEs is implemented, covering the period of 2003-2011 with the use of a multivariate regression model (EGLS) with explanatory variables characterizing firms’ operational activity.
