Poverty and inequality are among the most discussed topics in Economics. This thesis aims to investigate the empirical relationship between financial inclusion, poverty and gender inequality. Using unique cross-country panel and survey data sets, three hypotheses are tested: (1) microfinance is an effective tool for poverty reduction; (2) women’s participation in microfinance contributes to improvements in gender equality; and (3) financial inclusion has a positive effect on household income in China.

In the present paper, firstly, we review our previous works on uncertainty quantification (UQ) of reactor physics parameters. The nitrite reductase (Nir) isolated fromPseudomonas chlororaphisDSM 50135 is a blue enzyme, with type 1 and type 2 copper centers, as in all copper-containing Nirs des-cribed so far. For the first time, a direct determination of the reduction potentials of both copper centers in a Cu-Nir was performed: type 2 copper (T2Cu), 172 mV and type 1 copper (T1Cu), 298 mV at pH 7.6.

Heme endows human serum albumin (HSA) with heme-protein-like reactiv-ity and spectroscopic properties. Here, the kinetics and thermodynamics of reductive nitrosylation of ferric human serum heme-albumin [HSA-heme-Fe(III)] are reported. All data were obtained at 20C. At pH 5.5, HSA-heme-Fe(III) binds nitrogen monoxide (NO) reversibly, leading to the formation of nitrosylated HSA-heme-Fe(III) [HSA-heme-Fe(III)-NO].

In this paper we give a geometric version of the Satake isomorphism [Sat]. As such, it can be viewed as a first step in the geometric Langlands program. The connected complex reductive groups have a combinatorial classification by their root data.
