In recent years, landslides are taking place very seriously, and tend to increase in both scope and scale, threatening people's lives and properties. Therefore, timely detection of landslide areas is extremely important to minimize damage. In this paper, an improved algorithm for partitioning data with reliability problems using multiple fuzzifiers named as TSSFC is introduced.

This study aims to determine the criteria affecting the selection of container shipping by inland waterways in Northern Vietnam using Fuzzy Hierarchical Analysis Process (FAHP). The study identified four key criteria: economy, infrastructure, policy and geography and 18 sub-criteria. Data was collected from ten experts in the field of container transport by inland waterways. The FAHP method was used to determine the relative importance of each criterion and rank the criteria.

This study has established and calibrated a three-dimensional system model with a combination of hydraulics-waves and suspended sediment transport with measured data in the study area. Based on the calculated scenarios for the flood and the dry seasons, the results show the occurrence of MTZs in the riparian zone of the Mekong river with typical suspended sediment concentrations (SSC) ranging from 0.04–1.0 kg/m3 dry season and 0.2–1.1 kg/m3 flood season.

The research design adopted to address this problem utilised mixed data collection methodologies. In order to determine what was happening in the industry as a whole, a specially designed survey was conducted utilising both web-based and traditional paper-based instruments. This provided valuable quantitative data about the rate of uptake, types of companies and so on. To complement this, a focus group of selected representatives within the industry was conducted to delve more deeply into motivations behind the decision to adopt the technology and the perceived benefits derived from it.

Herein, a combined analysis of Global Navigation Satellite System-derived strain rate maps, in accordance with recent seismicity, was presented to reveal that the N-S extension is accommodated primarily by strike-slip faulting of the İzmir-Balıkesir Transfer Zone (İBTZ), where a counter clockwise rotation (~25–100°/Myr) along the vertical axis is dominant. The results indicated that strike-slip segments within the İBTZ show variable transport sense and amount of slip along them, and they connect by hard linkage relay ramps with the dip to oblique slip normal faults.

Analysis of ca. 1400 km of multichannel seismic data indicate that the distal part of the Sakarya Canyon within the continental rise is an unstable region with sediment erosion. Fourteen buried debris flows (DB1–DB14), in the stacked form within Plio–Quaternary sediments between 1400 and 1950 m water depth, were observed in the surveyed area. Their run-out distances range from 3.8 to 24.4 km. The largest debris flow DB10 affects ca. 225 km2 surficial area transporting ca. 15 km3 of sediment in S to N direction.
