Digital divide

This research presents an exploratory investigation of sales agents of international insurance firms in Hanoi, aiming to understand the connection between the Uncertainty Avoidance (UA), as discussed by Hofstede (2024), and the digital divide identified by Jan van Dijk (2020). The survey using Google Form was administered to 246 Vietnamese sales agents to collect data for SPSS analysis. The AMOS path diagram was then employed to test the hypotheses based on the conceptual model. The findings indicate that Uncertainty Avoidance negatively impacts the digital divide.

This dissertation consists of three essays that address the issue of the business value of Information Technology (IT) in the context of the Internet economy. The first essay studies the productivity of IT in the context of pure Internet based companies or dot coms. Various dot coms are divided into two groups: “digital” dot coms whose product and service can be distributed in digital form, and “physical” dot coms whose product needs to be physically shipped to customers.

Sensor used in this project is MOC 7811 from Motorola. This is a slotted coupler/interrupter device. In each revolution as the beam is interrupted, the sensor generates a positive pulse. Microcontroller will execute interrupt routine, When a pulse occurs. Interrupt routine measures the total time taken for one revolution, divides it by 120, and stores the result into another timer, Configured in auto-reload mode. Now, the timer overflows after tiny intervals of time. Each time it overflows, next stored value is called from the lookup table, and displayed....
