  • This article presents two methods to determine pressing forces to the M1 copper plate. The first approach employs the upper-bound method, and the second method combines numerical simulation with a central composite design. The upper-bound method uses physical analysis to determine the deformation zone and establish the division of the rigid block model. The findings were identical to the slip-line solution method.

  • The present paper considers the composite plate resting on an elastic pinned subjected to harmonic loads. The plate element model with high-order shear deformation theory and finite element algorithm is proposed in order to buckling analysis of the plate. As a result, the buckling domain is determined. Moreover, the effect of geometric parameters, elastic pins, and materials on the buckling of the plate is comprehensively investigated.

  • In this paper, geometrical nonlinear flutter analysis of functionally graded carbon nanotubes reinforced composite plates is presented. The governing equations of the system are obtained using the Mindlin plate theory and von Karman geometric nonlinearity. The linear piston theory is utilized to determine the aerodynamic pressure. Applying the Hamilton principle, equations of motion of a system are derived in the matrix form, and then the finite element method is used to obtain the discretized equations.

  • In the paper "Finite element analysis for the composite sandwich plate using the homogenization method", we propose a homogeneous model for the composite sandwich plate. Accordingly, the 3D plate model will be replaced by a 2D homogeneous panel. Analytical calculations were performed for both models. The proposed model is confirmed by comparing the results obtained with the 3D plate model. The findings of this research will help us continue to build and finalize a homogenous model for a variety of structures.

  • Large deflections of functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced composite (FG-CNTRC) sandwich beams are studied in this paper by a nonlinear finite element procedure. The core of the beams is homogeneous while the two faces are of CNTRC material. The effective properties of the two CNTRC face sheets are determined by an extended rule of mixture. CNTs are reinforced into matrix phase through uniform distribution (UD) or four different types of functionally graded (FG) distribution, named as FG-X, FG-A, FG-V, FG-O.

  • An approach on the prediction of sound transmission loss for finite clamped composite sandwich plates with foam core is described in the paper. Sandwich plates are treated as being orthotropic and the apparent bending stiffness is calculated for the two principle directions. The apparent bending stiffness of sandwich plate is estimated by finite element calculation on beam elements cut from the sandwich plate.

  • The sediment quality assessment showed that trace element concentrations were lower than the limited values in the sediment quality guideline (QCVN 43:2017/BTNMT). According to the Igeo index, the sediments were not polluted by Cu, Pb, Zn, Cr, Fe, and As but were likely polluted by Hg and Mn in some sampling sites. Therefore, it is necessary to invest the future studies to assess the Hg and Mn concentration levels in these sites to protect the marine environment.
