  • In this paper, we consider a nonlocal P -Laplace parabolic equation depending on the LP norm of the gradient with nonlinearity of arbitrary order. First, we prove the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions by combining the compactness and monotone methods and the weak convergence techniques in Orlicz spaces.

  • The infant mortality rate (IMR) is still a key indicator in a middle-income country such as Ecuador where a slightly increase up to 11.75 deaths per thousand life births has been observed in 2019. The purpose of this study is to propose and apply a prioritization method that combines clusters detection (Local Indicators of Spatial Association, LISA) and a monotonic statistic depicting time trend over 10 years (Mann–Kendall) at municipal level.

  • In this paper, we propose the need to examine the causes of missing data in a medical dataset to ensure that the right imputation method is used in solving the problem. The mechanism of missingness in datasets was studied to know the missing pattern of datasets and determine a suitable imputation technique to generate complete datasets.

  • In this paper, we consider an explicit method that is strong convergence in an infinite-dimensional Hilbert space and a simple variant of the hybrid steepest-descent method, introduced by Yamada. The strong convergence of this method is proved under some mild conditions. Finally, we give an application for the optimization problem and present some numerical experiments to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • The overwhelming majority of dose-escalation clinical trials use methods that seek a maximum tolerable dose, including rule-based methods like the 3+3, and model-based methods like CRM and EWOC. These methods assume that the incidences of efficacy and toxicity always increase as dose is increased.

  • In this paper, we propose an extension of the parameter continuation method for solving operator equations of the second kind. By splitting of the operator into a sum of two operators: one monotone, Lipschitz-continuous and one contractive, the applicability of the method is broader. The suitability of the proposed approach is presented through an example.

  • We propose a new monotone finite-difference scheme for the second-order local approximation on a nonuniform grid that approximates the Dirichlet initial boundary value problem (IBVP) for the quasi-linear convection-diffusion equation with unbounded nonlinearity, namely, for the Gamma equation obtained by transformation of the nonlinear Black-Scholes equation into a quasilinear parabolic equation. Using the difference maximum principle, a two-sided estimate and an a priori estimate in the c-norm are obtained for the solution of the difference schemes that approximate this equation.

  • The aim of this paper is to present an efficient high order accuracy numerical scheme for conservation law on structure grids. The Monotone Upstream Centered Scheme for Conservation Laws (MUSCL) procedure renders the model to preserve the well-balanced property and achieve high accuracy and efficiency for solving nonlinear two dimensional shallow water equations (2DSWE).

  • In this paper, the cyclic plastic behaviors such as cyclic hardening and cyclic creep of special steel garde 38XH3MФА are studied. Tensile test (uniaxial monotonic test) has been conducted to get mechanical properties of the materials. Cyclic deformation tests were carried out for specimens bearing uniaxial load over materials yield limit in cyclic tension-compression with both strain – controlled and stress – controlled methods.

  • We consider a second order three point boundary value problem for dynamic equations on time scales and establish criteria for the existence of at least two positive solutions of an eigenvalue problem by an application of a fixed point theorem in cones. Existence result for non-eigenvalue problem is also given by the monotone method.

  • The aim of this paper is to study a method of approximating a solution of the operator equation of Hammerstein type x + F2F1(x) = f on the base of constructing a system of differential equations of the first order, where Fi , i = 1, 2, are the continuous monotone operators in real Hilbert space H. Then this method is considered in connection with finite-dimentional approximations for H.

  • For simplicity,we assume that skylines are computedwith respect tomin con- ditions on all dimensions; however, all methods discussed can be applied with any combination of conditions. Using the min condition, a point pi dominates1 another point pj if and only if the coordinate of pi on any axis is not larger than the corresponding coordinate of pj . Informally, this implies that pi is preferable to pj according to any preference (scoring) function which is monotone on all attributes.

  • Perfect when describing your company or its offers, as well as when reacting to an explanation of your prospect’s company, its situation and goals. Enthusiastic delivery requires use of lots of highs and lows in the voice, variation of speed and the emphasis or “punch” of key words. The opposite of enthusiasm is boredom. It is accomplished by keeping the voice monotone. Or, worse, the sing-songy delivery when someone is reading. There is no middle ground here. Boredom will shorten the call and reduce the results.

  • ON DELAY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS WITH NONLINEAR BOUNDARY CONDITIONS TADEUSZ JANKOWSKI Received 21 July 2004 The monotone iterative method is used to obtain sufficient conditions which guarantee that a delay differential equation with a nonlinear boundary condition has quasisolutions, extremal solutions, or a unique solution. Such results are obtained using techniques of weakly coupled lower and upper solutions or lower and upper solutions. Corresponding results are also obtained for such problems with more delayed arguments.
