The study was aimed at analyzing determinants of smallholders’ beef cattle market participation and quantity supplied to the market in Toke Kutaye and Bako Tibe Districts, West Shewa Zone, Oromia National Regional State, Ethiopia. The primary data for this study were collected from 376 sampled household producers by using interview schedule, site visit and personal observation. Data analysis was made using descriptive and inferential statistics and heckman two-step selection model.

Poverty and inequality are among the most discussed topics in Economics. This thesis aims to investigate the empirical relationship between financial inclusion, poverty and gender inequality. Using unique cross-country panel and survey data sets, three hypotheses are tested: (1) microfinance is an effective tool for poverty reduction; (2) women’s participation in microfinance contributes to improvements in gender equality; and (3) financial inclusion has a positive effect on household income in China.

This research investigates the efficiency and equity impacts of the cropland rental market in rural Vietnam and attempts to identify the determinants and importance of transaction costs impeding this market. A generalised ordered logit model with shifting thresholds accounting for effects of transaction costs associated with market participation was specified and estimated using pooled data extracted from the Vietnam Household Living Standards Surveys of 2004 and 2008.

This study employed a discrete choice framework to explore cooking energy use patterns amongst urban Rwandan households using the latest EICV 5 microeconomic survey dataset. Specific analysis focused on choices for three primary cooking fuels namely: firewood, charcoal and liquidified petroleum gas. The findings show that ordered model provided better prediction for primary fuel choices rather than the secondary choices for multiple fuel users with income as a key determinant.

To examine a reproducibility of a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (SQFFQ) in general populations in the North Viet Nam in 2017. Methods: A Cross-sectional survey using methods of 24-hour recall records of food intake (24-FR, the reference group) in 300 households of three commune general populations that have 1,334 persons. SQFFQ was tested for 600 participants which found 310 participants eligible in linking with persons of 300 households.

Through International Labour Organization’s indicators of forced labour, author identifies some forms of violence towards female domestic workers in Ho Chi Minh City nowadays. There are different types of domestic work, but within the scope of research paper, the author will focus on two main groups of female domestic workers, i.e. domestic workers in private households and patient caretakers. They represent two different working environments, but have one thing in common, which is the higher frequency of contact with their employers compared to the other groups.

The results of the analysis show that rice consumption in Indonesia influenced by the number of households, rice prices, cooking oil prices, chicken prices, participation in rice consumption, age and social assistance. Price elasticity and income elasticity is inelastic, but income elasticity not statistically significant. There are indications that food diversification is happening, can be seen from consumption decline due to social assistance which provides alternative choices of consumption.
