This paper presents a numerical investigation into the solidification process in an annulus that is placed horizontally. The method used is a front-tracking method combined with a linear interpolation technique. The inner wall of the annulus is held at cold temperature, which is lower than the melting point of the liquid, while its outer wall is insulated during solidification.

This study was conducted to determine the effects of different position angles in twin-jet spray applications on droplet penetration of different nozzle types. Seven different nozzle types (standard flat fan, ST; narrow flat fan, STN; multirange, LU; lowdrift potential, AD; air-induction, IDK; twin-jet air-induction, IDKT) were used and nozzles were positioned +15° along the forward direction, perpendicular to ground surface 0˚ and reverse direction of forward –15°. Spray experiments at 100 L/ha constant application volume were conducted under controlled conditions of a closed facility.

The distinct phases are separated by the interfaces represented by connected elements. So, there is a three-junction point among three phases: solid, liquid, and gas. The water droplets are assumed as a spherical cap and placed on the cold plate which is kept at a subfreezing temperature. At the end of solidification, we obtain a small protrusion shape at the top of the frozen water droplet and its height is also higher than that of the initial water droplet.

A 560m2 naturally ventilated greenhouse (Fig. 1) was constructed at the research farm of Department of Soil and Water Engineering, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. A similar greenhouse was also constructed at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Faridkot. Capsicum was cropped during the studying period at both experimental areas in different period of time. Temperature inside the greenhouse at various places was recorded on hourly basis from 0700 hours to 1800.

Miscible displacement can be understood as a physical process in a porous medium whereby two or more fluids fully dissolve into each other when a fluid mixes and goes into the pore space occupied by other fluids without the existence of an interface. A physical model was made in Can Tho University, which included an electrical current system connecting nine groups of four-electrode probes for measuring the electrical conductivity of a potassium chloride solution flowing through a horizontal sand column placed in a firm frame.

Freshly collected seed loses around 50% of its moisture in the first three days. It has also been found that germination rate decreases with the loss of moisture, and therefore seeds are planted as soon as possible after collection. If planting is not possible straight away, they are placed in a tin of charcoal to help retain moisture levels. Seeds are planted after being raised in special germination beds, around 90cm wide, with spaces between to allow room for walking.
