A statistical modeling tool is presented that enables real-time viewing of how changes in method, process, and stability variability/bias impact product acceptance rate. The tool can be used to set and justify specifications. As needed, additional sources of variability/bias can be added to further optimize the tool’s prediction power. The tool can be used to assess each manufacturing run to ensure the process is in control. Aberrant results can then be investigated to see what source of variability/bias may have changed.

This article reports on the implementation of clickers to improve the success rate of first-year mathematics students. There were 105 students registered in this course, in a university of technology in South Africa. In order to do this, an orientation test in the form of a paper-based assessment was first conducted to determine what students already knew. About 21.9% of the students did not take the test and 20% did not pass it. These results raised concerned. Thereafter students were taught. After four weeks they were evaluated on their understanding of the concept taught in class.

The fatigue crack growth behavior of Type 347 (S347) and Type 347N (S347N) stainless steel was evaluated under the operating conditions of a pressurized water reactor (PWR). These two materials showed different fatigue crack growth rates (FCGRs) according to the changes in dissolved oxygen content and frequency. Under the simulated PWR conditions for normal operation, the FCGR of S347N was lower than that of S347 and insensitive to the changes in PWR water conditions.

We identify the main challenges of the emerging EHEA regarding third cycle students in order to capture the pedagogical essence of what has been, until date, just a structural change. The EHEA has many practical gains to offer, but it also has potential disadvantages that need be acknowledged and addressed.

The temperature distribution from the top to the bottom of the network is determined by an infrared camera and then these results are adopted in the mathematical model algorithm. During the drying process, the series of images showing the phase change in network is observed and recorded, which will be processed with an algorithm built in MATLAB. From that, we find out the change of network saturation, drying rate and the increase in the number of clusters and in the size of the main cluster in network.
