In this study, the simultaneous determination of Co, Cd, Ni, Cu, and Pb was carried out as a color complex with 4-(2-pyridylazo) resorcinol in an aqueous solution under the assesting of machine learning. A partial least-squares multivariate linear regression and artificial neuron network for the analysis of mixtures of metals were developed. MATLAB is a powerful software machine learning program that was used to support matrix calculations and displays.

A new spectrophotometric method has been developed for determination of molybdenum using surfactantmediated liquid–liquid extraction. Molybdenum(V) obtained by ascorbic acid reduction in 2.5 M H2 SO4 reacted spontaneously with thiocyanate and cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), forming an intense orange yellow complex that was extracted quantitatively into 1,2-dichloroethane and absorbed at 460 nm. The absorbance of the extract was found to be stable for more than 24 h.

A simple and efficient method for speciation and determination of iron in different water samples was developed. The method is based on ionic liquid ultrasound assisted dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (IL-USADLLME) followed by spectrophotometric determination. Carmoisine (E122) is a synthetic azo dye that is generally used to give a red color to food products. In this work, a sensitive and simple method was developed for the determination of carmoisine based on cloud point extraction. To obtain the optimum conditions for the extraction efficiency of carmoisine, the effects of different analytical parameters such as H2 SO4 concentration, concentration of Triton X-114, and equilibrium temperature were studied. Immediate preconcentration and spectrophotometric methods have been developed for the determination of trace amounts of cupric ion (Cu(II)) and nickel ion (Ni(II)) through a solid phase extraction with XAD-4-N,N’-bis- (salicylidene) cyclohexanediamine (XAD-4-SCHD) resin and a complex color reaction of the ions with 2,6-dimethylmorpholine dithiocarbamate (DMMDTC) in Triton X-100 media. In this paper, a fast, cheap, simple, sensitive and selective spectrophotometric method based on high spin peroxo-Fe(III)-EDTA complex in the alkaline medium was developed for the determination of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in real water samples. The purple-coloured complex with a maximum absorbance at a wavelength of 525 nm was formed. Adsorption is one of the primary processes for removing arsenic from drinking water. This study focuses on developing inexpensive and effective adsorbents to remove arsenic from ground water. Eight different types of adsorbents were prepared. Some of these materials were chemically modified. The efficiency of percentage adsorption of arsenite, As(+III) on different materials were investigated at different pH, contact time and initial concentrations. Out of eight different types of adsorbents, the iron-loaded xanthated orange waste (Fe-XOW) showed high efficiency for the removal of arsenic.

Ratio subtraction and isosbestic point methods are two innovative spectrophotometric methods for determining the concentrations of metronidazole (I) and diloxanide furoate (II) in a mixture. Metronidazole was determined by direct spectrophotometric method at kmax 314.0 nm in the presence of diloxanide furoate in the range of 4–24 lg ml1 with a mean recovery percentage of 99.83 ± 1.41. This paper describes sensitive, accurate and precise spectrophotometric, TLC-spectrodensitometric and high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) methods for simultaneous determination of olanzapine and fluoxetine HCl. Two spectrophotometric methods were developed, namely; first derivative (D1 ) and derivative ratio (DD1 ) methods. The TLC method employed aluminum TLC plates precoated with silica gel GF254 as the stationary phase and methanol: toluene:ammonia (7:3:0.1, by volume) as the mobile phase, where the chromatogram was scanned at 235 nm.

Three sensitive methods were developed for simultaneous determination of Ezetimibe (EZB) and Atorvastatin calcium (ATVC) in binary mixtures. First derivative (D1 ) spectrophotometry was employed for simultaneous determination of EZB (223.8 nm) and ATVC (233.0 nm) with a mean percentage recovery of 100.23 ± 1.62 and 99.58 ± 0.84, respectively. Linearity ranges were 10.00–30.00 lg mL1 and 10.00–35.00 lg mL1 , respectively. Isosbestic point (IS) spectrophotometry, in conjunction with second derivative (D2 ) spectrophotometry was employed for analysis of the same mixture.

The molar absorptivities were 1.5.104 l.mol-1 .cm-1 and Sandell's sensitivity index of 0.0263 μg.cm-2 . Recoveries of mesalazine from excipients were 95.4 -102.3 %. No interference was observed from common excipients present in pharmaceutical formulations. The proposed method has been applied successfully to determine mesalazine in pharmaceutical preparation as tablets (Pentasa and Sunmesacol).

The reaction involves a threestep process of diazotization of the ceftazidime with mixture HCl and NaNO2 at 0–5 oC, to produce the corresponding diazonium salt, removal of residual nitrite with sulphamic acid and coupling with N-(1-naphthyl)ethylenediamine (NEDA),to give a purple colored product with λmax at 575 nm and stable for five hours. Beer’s law was obeyed at concentrations ranging from 1.0 to 50.0 µg/mL with correlation coefficient R2 = 0.997.

A new automated procedure for preconcentration and analysis of anionic surfactants in water using solid-phase extraction (SPE) in a flow injection (Fl) system together with an UV-vis detection is reported in this paper. The method involves extraction of blue coloured ion-pair complex of anionic surfactants and methylene blue into solid phase and their elution from the SPE column with organic solvent (chloroform stabilised with methanol) and subsequent measurement in an UV-vis flow cell at 650 nm. The system is well optimised before to apply for analysis of real samples.
