Comparison of splenocyte microRNA expression profiles of pigs during acute and chronic toxoplasmosis
Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular parasite that infects humans and other warm-blooded animals. Previous quantitative proteomic analyses of infected host cells revealed that the expression of many host proteins is modulated by T. gondii infection.

Toxoplasmosis is one of the most common human zoonosis, and is generally benign in most of the individuals. Pulmonary involvement is common in immunocompromised subjects, but very rare in immunocompetents and there are scarce reports of tomographic findings in the literature.

This study was an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design by using consecutive techniques. The research started from November2019 until January 2020 in the Chemotherapy Unit and Clinical Pathology Laboratory Dr. M. Djamil Padang with a total sample of fifty-four people. The research instrument used was the EnzymeLinked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) test for IgG and IgM antibodies in the blood serum of toxoplasmosis patients.

Toxoplasmosis is a zoonosis caused by Toxoplasma gondii, an obligate intracellular parasite. It can cause significant morbidity and mortality in the developing fetus if the pregnant women get acute infection during pregnancy. The aim of the study was to assess the seroprevalence of Toxoplasmosis in antenatal women with bad obstetric history. The seropositivity was analysed according to age, bad obstetric history, socioeconomic and literacy status. A total of 160 antenatal women with BOH and 24 antenatal women with previous normal delivery as control group attending to Govt.

This cross sectional study was carried out in Dhamar governorate from December 2015 to November, 2016 with main objective to determine the seroprevalence of toxoplasmosis in humans and animals. A total of 323 individuals and 323 animals (241 sheep, 69 cattle and 13 goats) from different districts of Dhamar governorate were selected and tested using ELISA and PCR techniques for detection antibodies against Toxoplasma gondii in human and animals. The results revealed that, the overall seroprevalence of toxoplasmosis in human was 20.43%.

Toxoplasma gondii infection has a worldwide distribution. Pyrimethamine (PYR) is the most effective drug for treatment of toxoplasmosis. Unfortunately, it has low oral bioavailability which requires an increase in the dose that results in increased its side effects. Nanostructures showed promising potential to overcome this problem. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of intraperitoneal injection (IP) of PYR-loaded niosomes compared to PYR in the treatment of acute toxoplasmosis in experimentally infected mice.

Nowadays, there are many different procedures for the laboratory diagnosis of Toxoplasma infection in pregnant women, congenitally-infected fetuses and newborns, and they are mainly performed by serological testing, and PCR (for confirmatory purpose), beside many commercial diagnostic tests, which use Toxoplasma lysate antigen. These procedures differ from each other in many aspects; cost, time-consumption, and accuracy of the test, which should meet patient’s needs.

Toxoplasmosis has worldwide distribution; however, its prevalence varies within countries and communities in the same region. No studies were conducted on the seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii infection in Qassim region in Saudi Arabia. Our study aimed to determine the seroprevalence of toxoplasmosis among females in Qassim University, Al-melida campus, Qassim and identify the risk factors associated with Toxoplasmosis.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a common autoimmune disorder that affects around 1% of the world’s population. The associating morbidity extends out of the joints to involve many vital organs in addition to increased mortality rates. Environmental infections are one of the accused elements to be a risk factor for RA. The relationship between RA and toxoplasmosis was a point of controversy where most of the human studies reported either absent or positive correlation.

Many parasitic diseases can be transmitted by blood transfusion. Among the protozoal diseases transmitted by blood transfusion in India, the most important is malaria followed by toxoplasmosis. Screening for malaria is mandatory in India. Seroprevalence rates in the general population in India vary from a low of 1% to a high of 57 %. Aim of the study is to estimate the prevalence of Toxoplasma gondii IgG antibodies in healthy voluntary blood donors in a tertiary care hospital in and around Salem.

Toxoplsmosis is a disease of all regions and communities. The present study was conducted in 2017 to evaluate Toxoplasma prevalence and related knowledge in pregnant women and university staff of Kirkuk city.1000 individuals had submitted a questionnaire form to assess their knowledge on Toxoplasma. Sero-prevalence screen of the disease was done by ELIZA technique in 276 individuals of the pregnant women. The total infection rate of the disease among the pregnant women was 9.8%.

Epilepsy is one of the most common and important neurological disorders among children especially in developing countries. Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) is an intracellular protozoan capable of forming cysts in the brain of chronically infected humans. Moreover, the larvae of Toxocara canis (T. canis) can locate in the central nervous system leading to several neurological disorders. This study was undertaken to identify the prevalence and risk factors of toxocariasis and toxoplasmosis in children with idiopathic epilepsy.
