Aims of the study: To compare the noun phrases in the original text of the book “Fire and Fury” by Michael Wolff and the Vietnamese version translated by Tran Trong Hai Minh and to identify mismatches between the two texts in term of lexicon, grammatical structure, situational and cultural context; to find out how the translator deal with those mismatches to achieve the equivalent translation.

The thesis goal is to examine the dynamic equivalence in the Vietnamese subtitles of Sherlock series on Netflix. To achieve the goal of this thesis, three main targets need to be implemented include finding out the existence of translation universals and laws in translating subtitles of Sherlock on Netflix, investigating the behavior of translation universals in Vietnamese subtitles, evaluating the relationship between English and Vietnamese subtitles of Sherlock based on the descriptive translation study theory.

Post-translational modifications, such as phosphorylation and acetylation of the tumour suppressor protein p53, elicit important effects on the func-tion and the stability of the resultant protein. However, as phosphorylation and acetylation are dynamic events subject to complex controls, elucidating the relationships between phosphorylation and acetylation is difficult.

TheNS5Bproteinof the classical swine fever virus (CSFV) is the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase of the virus and is able to catalyze the viral genome replication. The 3¢ un-translated region is most likely involved in regulation of the Pestivirusgenome replication. However, little is known about the interaction between the CSFV NS5B protein and the viral genome. We used different RNA templates derived fromthe plus-strand viral genome, or theminus-strand viral genome and the CSFV NS5B protein obtained from the Escherichia coliexpression system to address this problem....

In our continued studies on corticotropin releasing factor receptor (CRFR1) signaling in the skin, we tested functional activity of CRFR1a, e, f, g and h isoforms after transfection to COS cells. Both membrane-bound and soluble variants are translatedin vivointofinal proteinproducts that undergo further post-translational modifications.

TheHfq (Host factor 1) polypeptide is anucleic acidbinding protein involved in the synthesis of many polypeptides. Hfq particularly affects the translation and the stability of several RNAs. In an earlier study, the use of fold recog-nition methods allowed us to detect a relationship between Escherichia coliHfq and the Sm topology. This topology was further validated by a series of biophysical studies and theHfqstructurewasmodelledonanSmprotein.Hfq forms ab-sheet ring-shaped hexamer.

The virus protein linked to the genome (VPg) of plant potyviruses is a 25-kDa protein covalently attached to the genomic RNA 5¢ end. It was previously reported that VPg binds specifically to eIF4E, the mRNAcap-binding protein of the eukaryotic translation initiation complex. We per-formed a spectroscopic study of the interactions between lettuce eIF4E and VPg from lettuce mosaic virus (LMV).

Translation initiation of hepatitis C virus (HCV) occurs through an internal ribosome entry site (IRES) located at its 5¢-end. As a positive-stranded RNA virus, HCV uses its genome as a common template for translation and replication, but the coordination between these two pro-cesses remains poorly characterized.

Peptides function as chemical signals between cells of multicellular organ-isms via specific receptors on target cells. Many hormones, neuromodula-tors and growth factors are peptides. Peptide hormones and other biologically active peptides are synthesized as higher molecular weight pre-cursor proteins (pro-hormones), which must undergo post-translational modification to yield the bioactive peptide(s).

The most striking difference between the subgenomic mRNA8 of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus isolated from human and some animal species is the deletion of 29 nucleotides, resulting in splitting of a single ORF (ORF8) into two ORFs (ORF8a and ORF8b). ORF8a and ORF8b are predicted to encode two small proteins, 8a and 8b, and ORF8 a single protein, 8ab (a fusion form of 8a and 8b).

Members of the 2-oxoacid dehydrogenase multienzyme complex family play a key role in the pathways of central metabolism. Post-translational lipoylation of the dihydrolipoyl acyltransferase component of these com-plexes is essential for their activity, the lipoyllysine moiety performing the transfer of substrates and intermediates between the different active sites within these multienzyme systems.

Gene switches have potential applications for the regulation of transgene expression in plants and animals. Recently, we have developed a two-hybrid ecdysone receptor (EcR) gene switch using chimera 9 [CH9, a chi-mera between helices 1–8 ofHomo sapiensretinoid X receptor (HsRXR) and helices 9–12 ofLocusta migratoriaRXR (LmRXR)] as a partner for Choristoneura fumiferanaEcR (CfEcR).

Protein N-myristoylation plays key roles in various cellular functions in eukaryotic organisms. To clarify the relationship between the efficiency of protein N-myristoylation and the amino acid sequence of the substrate in plants, we have applied a wheat germ cell-free translation system with high protein productivity to examine the N-myristoylation of various wild-type and mutant forms ofArabidopsis thalianaproteins.

This post-translational modi-fication relies on membrane-associated specific biogenesis proteins, referred to as cytochrome c maturation systems.

The A-minor interaction, formed between single-stranded adenosines and the minor groove of a receptor helix, is among the most common motifs found in rRNA. Among the A-minors found in 16S rRNA are a set of interactions between adenosines at positions 1433, 1434 and 1468 in helix 44 (h44) and their receptors in the nucleotide 320–340 region of helix 13 (h13).

Sindbis virus (SV) is the prototype of alphaviruses which are a group of widely distributed human and animal pathogens. Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) A1 is an RNA-binding protein that shuttles between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. Our recent studies found that hnRNP A1 relocates from nucleus to cytoplasm in Sindbis virus (SV)-infected cells. hnRNP A1 binds to the 5′ UTR of SV RNA and facilitates the viral RNA replication and translation.
