Butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) and the T splice variant of acetylcholinester-ase that is predominant in mammalian brain and muscles (AChET) possess a characteristic C-terminal tail (t) peptide. This t peptide allows their assembly into tetramers associated with the anchoring proteins ColQ and PRiMA.
