UNIT 13: THE 22nd SEA GAMES D: WRITING I. AIMS/OBJECTIVES OF THE LESSON 1. Language focus: - To develop their writing skills for describing a football match - To provide students with some more new words and phrases 2. Skills: To help Ss develop their writing skills to describe a table 3. Attitudes: To encourage Ss work in pairs and groups II. PREPARATION 1. Teacher: - Teaching aids: Lesson plan, text book - Teaching method: Communicative language teaching 2. Students: - Read Unit 13 – writing at home III. PROCEDURE 1. Class organization (1 minute) 2. Check – up (5 minutes) Talk about the Vietnamese women’s football team 3. New lesson (35 minutes) STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES 1. Task 1 - Read out the information, check understanding Task 1 - Work in groups, put the questions under correct headings + Introduction Why was the football match held? The goalkeeper slipped and fell. So, he couldn’t touch the ball. One more goal was made. All the stadium burst into applause. Our school’s football team won the game with the score 2- 0. It was a wonderful and memorable match. We left the stadium for home feeling very happy and proud of our school. 4.
