  • since the first edition of analysis of electric machinery was published, the reference frame theory that was detailed in the book has become the universally accepted approach for the analysis of both electric machines and electric drive systems. now in its second edition, analysis of electric machinery and drive systems presents, in one resource, the application of this theory to the analysis, simulation, and design of the complete drive system including the machine, converter, and control.

  • Standard method of test for particle size analysis of soils describes a procedure for the quantitative determination of the distribution of particle sizes in soils. The following applies to all specified limits in this standard: For the purposes of determining conformance with these specifications, an observed value or a calculated value shall be rounded off “to the nearest unit” in the last right-hand place of figures used in expressing the limiting value, in accordance with ASTM E 29. The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard.

  • Noun phrases consisting of a sequence of nouns (sometimes referred to as nominal compounds) pose considerable difficulty for language analyzers but are common in many technical domains. The problems are compounded when some of the nouns in the sequence are ambiguously also verbs. The phrasal approach to language analysis, as implemented in PHRAN (PHRasal ANalyzer), has been extended to handle the recognition and partial analysis of such constructions. The phrasal analysis of a noun sequence is performed to an extent sufficient for continued analysis of the sentence in which it appears.

  • In this paper, I describe how Donnellan's distinction between referential and attributive uses of definite descriptions should be represented in a computational model of reference. After briefly discussing the significance of Donnellan's distinction, I reinterpret it as being three-tiered, relating to object representation, referring intentions, and choice of rehrring expression. I then present a cognitive model of referring, the components of which correspond to this analysis, and discuss the interaction that takes place among those components.

  • This paper describes the development of a rule-based computational model that describes how a feature-based representation of shared visual information combines with linguistic cues to enable effective reference resolution. This work explores a language-only model, a visualonly model, and an integrated model of reference resolution and applies them to a corpus of transcribed task-oriented spoken dialogues.

  • This paper presents preliminary results of actual measured and simulated performances of a first year 806.52 kWp grid connected photovoltaic power plant located at Assa, southern Morocco (28.63°N - 9.47°W). The PV system consists of 8 AICHI on-grid PV inverters, 100 kVA each and 3432 SHARP Brand 235 kWp modules. The plant is divided into two groups of 4 inverters, each inverter is supplied by a PV field consisting of 33 strings of 13 seriesconnected modules facing south at a fixed tilt of 20°.The data presented in this study were monitored during the first year of operation of the plant.

  • A versatile software tool, virtualmslab, is presented that can perform advanced complex virtual proteomic experiments with mass spectrometric analyses to assist in the characterization of proteins. The virtual experimen-tal results allow rapid, flexible and convenient exploration of sample prepar-ation strategies and are used to generate MS reference databases that can be matched with the real MS data obtained from the equivalent real experi-ments.

  • This temple and its fixtures are the only place within the palace that is not oriented along the east-west axis of the complex as was the Roman tradition (Decumanus). Historians also made reference to mysterious rituals, so we used archaeoacoustical methods to better understand why this ought be. We found that the temple’s orientation followed the direction of some infrasound and low frequency vibrations most likely originating from an underground flow of water.

  • The dsRNA binding protein (RBP) encoding gene of parapoxviruses (PPVs) from the Dromedary camels, inhabitating different geographical region of Rajasthan, India were amplified by polymerase chain reaction using the primers of pseudocowpoxvirus (PCPV) from Finnish reindeer and cloned into pGEM-T for sequence analysis. Analysis of RBP encoding gene revealed that PPV DNA from Bikaner shared 98.3% and 76.6% sequence identity at the amino acid level, with Pali and Udaipur PPV DNA, respectively.

  • The aim of this study was to determine the phylogenetic relationships of Trichoderma isolates obtained from NLS Tobacco region. Utilizing the sequence analysis of internal transcribed spacer-1 (ITS-1) region of the ribosomal DNA the rDNA of Five Trichoderma isolates was amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using universal primers (ITS-1 and ITS-4). PCR products were purified and these purified products were used to amplify the ITS-4 region of the five Trichoderma isolates.

The primary data were collected from 100 small tea growers drawn from fifteen randomly selected villages of two randomly selected blocks of Sonitpur district of Assam by conducting interview of individual respondents who were classified into lower-small, medium-small and higher-small tea growers on the basis of their land holdings. The secondary data were collected from various published and unpublished sources.

  • The Charged Hard Sphere (CHS) reference system is applied to study the structural analysis of liquid 3d transition metals. Here we report the structure factor S(q), pair distribution function g (r), interatomic distance r1 of nearest neighbour atoms and coordination number n1 for liquid 3d transition metals viz: Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni and Cu. To describe electron–ion interaction our own model potential is employed alongwith the local field correction due to Sarkar et al (SS). The present results of S(q) and g (r) are in good agreement with experimental findings.
