This research shows the influence of pile cap on bearing capacity of pile foundation, especially pile groups of shaft resistance. Using PLAXIS-3D FOUNDATION sofware to simulate a actual application with 4 piles in groups and assumption for 7 stiffness modulus of soil under pile cap. The output calculation expresses that in both the cap and the pile carrying the load. The cap is necessary to spread the vertical and horizontal loads and any overturning moments to all the piles in group and transfer load to soil underneath.

In this paper, the ultimate load capacities of shell foundations on unreinforced and reinforced sand were determined by laboratory model tests. A series of loading tests were carried out on model shell footing with and without single layer of reinforcement. The tests were done for shell foundation at different shell embedment depth and subgrade density. The results were compared with those for flat foundations without reinforcement. The model test results were verified using finite element analysis using program PLAXIS.

There are five Quaternary sedimentary sequences in the Red River Delta, Vietnam. The forming of each sequence is related to transgression and regression phases. The sequences, which was formed in transgression period, composed mainly of fine grained size leading to the water bearing capacity is very low and plays a role as aquicludes. Besides, in these fine grain size layers, the contents of arsenic and iron are high, especially in dark clay, silty clay rich in organic material ...

Oilless Guide Elements General Description Oilless Guide Elements with embedded solid lubricants are used in applications of linear or rotary motion in toolmaking, general machine construction and similar engineering uses. The structure of the base material provides closely spaced deposits of solid lubricant – properties and specifications as per table below. The elements satisfy highest demands in terms of load bearing capacity at low sliding speeds, within an extensive temperature band.

Stock market plays a very vital role in developing economy in India. It is also attracting the rural people in recent years. Investors usually perceive that all capital market investment avenues are risky. Based on objectives and risk bearing capacities, investors go for different investment alternatives. Among the various investment possibilities, mutual fund seems to be viable for all kind of investors as it is considered to be a safer mode of investment.

This article reviews the current status of the market for catastrophic risk (CAT) bonds and other risk-linked securities. CAT bonds and other risk-linked securities are innovative financial vehicles that have an important role to play in financing mega-catastrophes and other types of losses. The vehicles are especially important because they access capital markets directly, exponentially expanding risk-bearing capacity beyond the limited capital held by insurers and reinsurers.

The present study was conducted in Ludhiana district of Punjab to identify the constraints perceived by beneficiaries of livestock based Self Help Groups (SHGs). Data were collected using structured interview schedule from 120 women beneficiaries of the livestock based SHGs. Garrett’s ranking technique was used to prioritize the different sets of constraints in terms of their mean score. Findings of the study regarding constraints perceived by beneficiaries of livestock based Self Help Groups (SHGs) revealed that, “beneficiaries were not getting proper price of milk (63.

The application of prestressing steel is restricted in highly corrosive environment area due to corrosion of prestressing steel, which leads to reduction in strength and it may cause sudden failure. Carbon textile is considered as an alternate material due to its corrosive resistance property, high tensile strength and perfectly elastic. In this study, an experimental investigation was carried out to study the flexural behavior of prestressed and non-prestressed carbon textile reinforced concrete plates.

The main feature of the VSNI is that the isolated object is supported by a mechanism including wedge-roller-air spring (named the main mechanism-MM) meanwhile the model of VSNI can obtain the lower resonance frequency and the higher vibration attenuation than the equivalent linear isolation model (ELIM) but guarantee the load bearing capacity through introducing a cam-roller-air spring (named auxiliary mechanism-AM).

In hybrid structures, material layers of different mechanical properties are integrated to increase bearing capacity. When the difference in mechanical properties or thickness of the material layers is very large, debonding usually occurs along the interface between the two layers. This study uses a homogenization procedure combined with asymptotic algorithm applied on weaker/thinner materials to determine the interface stiffnesses for such structures. All the material layers and the interface are assumed to be linear elastic.
