Based on theoretical and practical research on creative competence in creating argumentative writing, and assessing high school students’ creative competence in creating argumentative writing, the thesis proceeds to build assessment standards and design assessment tools that are open-ended questions to assess high school students' creative competence in creating argumentative writing, contributing to the renewal of assessment of learning outcomes in the Literature subject at high schools in the direction of developing learners' competencies.

The present study investigates teachers‘ perceptions of the values of the CEFR, the perceived readiness and necessity of its application, and the work involved in its application process. Also, it explores teachers‘ responses to the use of the CEFR to renew the general English curriculum, reflected in how they changed their teaching activities, adapted the assigned textbooks and modified their assessment practice. The study was a case study applying the mixed method sequential explanatory model (Creswell & Clark, 2007).

The second aim of the study was to find out the correlation between students’ MI scores and their vocabulary learning strategy use. Before analyzing the correlation, it was found that Intrapersonal intelligence was the most dominant type among participants, while Mathematical Intelligence was the least used one. Pearson correlation was performed to see the potential relation between two variables.

The triangulated data results are surprisingly revealing in many essential aspects of vocabulary instruction, ranging from selecting vocabulary, teaching vocabulary directly and indirectly, explaining vocabulary meanings, teaching vocabulary through skills in various teaching phases in class. Hopefully, the findings of the study have provided an insightful understanding of vocabulary teaching practices in the primary school settings in Vietnam. From these empirical findings, relevant implications are suggested for better vocabulary instruction to young learners in Vietnam.

This study was an attempt to investigate the possible effects of integrating MI-based activities into developing the EFL students’ speaking skills, and then to find out the students’ evaluation of such an integration of MI-based activities. Therefore, to attain those two main objectives, the mixed research method was adopted: the quantitative approach utilizing a quasi-experimental study in which MI-based activities were integrated into an experiment.
