Learning English is very interesting! She learns English very well. Although she English /nz/ has learned English for only six months, Advanced /nd/ /n0/ Grammar she speaks it quite fluently . She said that /nt/ learning English gave her a chance to get /ns/ more knowledge about foreigners’ culture.

Grammar and vocabulary 1. Could / was, were able to Eg : When she was young she could play the violin well. Eg: She was tired last night, so she couldn’t / wasn’t able to finish her homework.
Note * We use both “could” and “was, were able to” to express one’s general ability in the past. * We use “was, were able to” to express one’s ability gained by making efort. * Couldn’t = wasn’t, weren’t able to

Note Eg: 1. It looks beautiful, doesn’t it? 2. It isn’t red , is it? 3. She must work very hard , mustn’t she? Rules: * The sujects and the verbs in the tatements match the sujects and the verbs in the tag questions. * If the statements are positive, the tag questions are negative and vice versa.
Exercise 2: Read the situation and write a sentence with a tag question. In each situation you are asking your friend to agree with you. 1. You’re with a friend outside a restaurant .
