A simple and environment-friendly electrochemical method using activated glassy carbon electrodes (aGCE) for monitoring the residues of tetracycline in pork samples was developed. A two-step pretreatment procedure was established for activating the glassy carbon electrode surface, including mechanical polishing and electrochemical pretreatment. In the supporting electrolyte solution of 0.2 M sodium sulfate (at pH 2.5), the electrochemical response of TC was characterized by two irreversible oxidation peaks at +0.95 V and +1.05 V vs. saturated calomel electrode. We present a new liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method for simultaneous determination of sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate homologues in the range of alkyl chain length C12–C16 with 0–5 ethoxy groups. The method is based on scanning the precursor ions fragmenting to m/z 80 and 97 (Precursor Ion Scanning mode), which makes it specific for species with easily cleavable sulfate groups.

The potential use of locally sourced ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBFS) and commercial sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) in the development of an eco-friendly sulfate-activated binder (SAB) was investigated in this study. The influence of Na2SO4 contents (1.5, 3.0, 4.5, 6.0, and 7.5% by mass of GGBFS) as a crucial sulfate activator on mechanical strength and durability performance of the SAB samples was evaluated through the tests of compressive strength, porosity, chloride ion penetration, and ultrasonic pulse velocity.

P2ClAn/PVDF composite membranes were prepared utilizing cation-exchange groups in the PVDF (polyvinylidenefluoride) membrane matrix by casting method. The poly(2-chloroaniline) (P2ClAn) was chemically synthesized with different dopant anions such as o-aminobenzene sulfonic acid (ABS) and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). P2ClAn/PVDF membranes were extensively characterized for their surface morphology, thickness, ion-exchange capacity, SEM, AFM, and FTIR-ATR measurements.

In this study, some enzymology parameters and some antibiotics affecting the enzyme activity of 6- phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (6PGD) extracted from t the livers of fish from Lake Van (Chalcalburnus tarichi) were investigated because it is an important enzyme-producing NADPH, a reductive power, protecting the cell against the oxidative agents by producing reduced glutathione. A simple and efficient method for speciation and determination of iron in different water samples was developed. The method is based on ionic liquid ultrasound assisted dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (IL-USADLLME) followed by spectrophotometric determination. Fe(II) is complexed with 2,4,6-tri(2’-pyridyl)-l,3,5-triazine (TPTZ), neutralized through ion pair formation with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and extracted into 1-hexyl-3- methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate [C6MIM][PF6].

Eosin-Y exhibits high affinity and emission based spectral response to most of the major ions in water samples. In the present study we performed selective spectrofluorimetric analysis of manganese with eosin-Y in the presence of potential interferents. We employed green chemistry reagents, ionic liquids (ILs) and two different micelles, to suppress the effect of conventional cations and anions on the response of eosin-Y. The experimental data revealed that different test moieties caused enhanced analytical response to Mn2+.

The MOE of concrete was measured at 3, 7, 28, 60, and 120 days. Experimental results were then compared to the MOE obtained using the empirical equation from ACI 318 - 2008. It was found that the experimental MOE of both OPC and GPC specimens was higher than the estimated MOE values from ACI standards. The added sodium sulfate yielded a significant effect on the MOE of OPC but produced a minimal influence on the MOE of GPC.

A facile route was used for the fabrication of NdFeO3 (NF) perovskite. The orthorhombic structure of single phase nanocrystalline NdFeO3 perovskite was confirmed by different characterization techniques: XRD, FTIR, TEM, BET, SEM, and EDAX. The nanoperovskite was successfully used as a sensor component with a carbon paste electrode (CpE) for the determination of ketotifen in pharmaceutical formulations. Ketotifen, an antiallergic drug, is utilized for the treatment of asthma attacks, rhinitis, skin allergies, and anaphylaxis.

In this study, encapsulation processes of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) or sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) monomers into the cavity of β -cyclodextrin (β -CD) were applied to synthesize mono- and bis (indolyl)methylmalononitrile derivatives by a one-pot three-component reaction of an aldehyde, malononitrile, and indole in an aqueous solution. These two inclusion complexes proved to be superior to CTAB or SDS individually, as cationic or anionic surfactants, respectively, for accessing high yields of pure products within shorter reaction times.

Ultra-heat-treated (UHT) cow milk is mostly consumed in Turkey. Heating milk can cause some chemical and biochemical changes that affect different components of milk. However, studies on the constituents of UHT milk are scare. In the present study, nitrate and thiocyanate contents of commercial UHT whole cow milk were determined simultaneously by sample stacking-capillary electrophoresis. The best separation of nitrate and thiocyanate ions was performed by reducing the electroosmotic flow at pH 4.0 using 30 mM formic acid and 30 mM sodium sulfate containing separation electrolyte.

The objective of this study is to obtain the protein content in NRL ≤ 50 µg/g of rubber and to evaluate the effect of oligoHEC treatment on the soluble protein content in NRL. The results show that oligoHEC at low concentration (0.25 %) effectively extracted protein molecules. Interestingly, the allergenic protein content in NRL decreased proportionally with the increase in oligoHEC concentration.
