Jasminum subtriplinerve Blume Oleaceae is a herbal medicine widely used for weight loss and milk gland stimulation. Extract product has been generally used but has not much scientific evidence about its safety and effects. This study aimed to evaluate the semi-chronic toxicity and lipid-lowering effects of Jasminum subtriplinerve Blume leaf extract. The study was performed on Wistar rats and Swiss mice.

Our previous RNA-sequencing study revealed that the ATF3 and CDKN1A genes were remarkably differentially expressed between the mammary glands of lactating Holstein cows with extremely high and low milk protein and fat percentage so that both of them were considered as candidates for milk composition.

This study has adopted a systematic approach to identify the extent to which 20 kHz ultrasound affects the particle size and solubility of different protein solutions containing 4%, 7% and 10% whey proteins, caseins or a mixture at a range of energy densities (15-400 J/mL) and various pH (4.0-9.0). Milk proteins hold a prominent place in the food industry as they are used in many manufactured products for their functionality and most importantly nutritional benefits.

In this Masters thesis computational modelling techniques were employed to investigate iron-free apo-Lactoferrin (apo-Lf) structural conformation changes in the presence of variant temperature and pH. These conditions represent the environment most milk protein goes through in food processing and the production of food products.

In this study, we detected polymorphisms of the four genes and verified their genetic effects on milk yield and composition traits in a Chinese Holstein cow population. In summary, we proved that SLC22A7, NGFR, ARNTL and PPP2R2B have significant genetic effects on milk production traits. The valuable SNPs can be used as candidate genetic markers for genomic selection of dairy cattle, and the effects of these SNPs on other traits need to be further verified.

Bacterial strains isolated from milk and dairy products produce a range of lantibiotics which can employed for development of food preservatives, flavor enhancers and as alternate treatment strategies for multi drug resistant bacterial pathogens. The diverse category of lantibiotics from milk isolates include well characterized prototypes like nisin to newer peptides yet to be studied.

The study was aimed to investigate the effects of different microwave heating times (1, 2, and 3 min at output microwave of 800 W) in comparison with the traditional heating (3 min, 110oC) on some physico-chemical properties and sensory evaluation. The consumer survey for the final product use was also conducted to determine whether there is a significant difference in general liking of the product with gender. The results indicated that the product with the shorter microwave heating time contained higher protein and reducing sugar compared to traditional heating.

Lactose provides an easily-digested energy source for neonates, and is the primary carbohydrate in milk in most species. Bovine lactose is also a key component of many human food products. However, compared to analyses of other milk components, the genetic control of lactose has been little studied. Here we present the first GWAS focussed on analysis of milk lactose traits.Lactose provides an easily-digested energy source for neonates, and is the primary carbohydrate in milk in most species. Bovine lactose is also a key component of many human food products.

Health traits are of significant economic importance to the dairy industry due to their effects on milk production and associated treatment costs. Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) provide a means to identify associated genomic variants and thus reveal insights into the genetic architecture of complex traits and diseases.

The on farm trial was conducted during two consecutive years 2018-19 and 2019-20 at two adopted villages of Deendayal Research Institutes Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ambajogai District Beed (Maharashtra). The trials were conducted for 60 days to study the effect of probiotics on milk yield and its production economics. The trials were laid out in a randomized block design consisting of three treatments with four replications of each.

he present investigation was conducted to study the effect of various non genetic factors like farm, parity, period of calving and season of calving on different production traits like total lactation milk yield (TLMY), 305 day milk yield (305MY), peak yield (PY), milk yield per day of lactation length (MY/LL) and milk yield per day of calving interval (MY/CI) in Murrah buffaloes. The data analysed include records of 2959 buffaloes, progeny of 219 sires maintained over a period of 24 years (1992-2015) at Buffalo research centre (BRC), LUVAS, Hisar and Animal farm ICAR-CIRB, Hisar.
