This research focuses on two key research questions: how to measure spatial accessibility to green space in urban areas at fine resolution; and what is the status of spatial inequity in accessibility to green space in the MMA. Guided by the two research questions and based on a systematic review of literature on accessibility in general accessibility to green space in particular, a methodology has been developed for producing results needed to answer the research questions.

The problem investigated is the potential gap between the rhetoric of the 'promise of e-business' versus the dynamics of enactment and impacts of ICT in practice in the social enterprise sector. The main contribution of the research is to identify the real development impact of lCT use by social enterprises by assessing the role of ICTs in achieving their goals. Its major finding is that SEs' social and business missions are inextricably linked .and their use of ICTs and benefits from it can be used as a proxy to assess ICTD. Thus SEs provide a new paradigm in the study of ICTD.

The aim of this research is to produce information on decision making in relation to fertiliser use. This information can be used in the Game Theory model to calculate optimal strategies on phosphorus fertiliser application amounts for the individuals within the group. If the results indicate a benefit to the individual and the community as a whole, and are seen as practical, then on a catchment wide basis this should lead to changes in management practices that will minimise phosphorus pollution of the Hopkins River catchment’s waterways.

The objective of this thesis was to investigate the development of a micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) which can be implanted in the eye to provide continuous monitoring of glaucoma conditions. Current glaucoma monitoring involves taking laboratory based intra ocular pressure (IOP) measurements. The measurement of intraocular fluid flow and IOP parameters related to blockage formation in the eye require to be continuously monitored in Glaucoma.

In this study, two models were proposed: a five-stage SISP maturity model for defining SISP maturity and another one for assessing the degree of SISP maturity. This research is qualitative, adopting an exemplar single case study approach with more than one unit of analysis embedded within the case. This research also takes an interpretivist view with the aim of developing concepts, confirming or refuting theory, drawing from specific implications and the contribution of rich insights. A public hospital in Malaysia currently operating with an end-to-end hospital IS/IT was selected as the case to explore the key elements that contribute to the success of assimilating HIS.

The purpose of this study is to expand the understanding of IT student retention in Taiwan. Three objectives are proposed: (a) to identify at-risk students who are most likely to drop out; (b) to model Information System (IS) student retention; and (c) to inform intervention programs for at-risk students.
