They arrived in this city in that year. ➔ It was the year when they arrived in this city. (Đó là năm họ đến thành phố này. 2) WHERE: được thay cho tiền ngữ là từ chỉ nơi chốn, như: city village, place, school,. . . Eg:This is the place. Defining/Restrictive relative clauses (mệnh đề quan hệ xác định/ hạn định) - Dùng để bổ nghĩa cho danh từ đứng trước, là mệnh đề quan trọng của câu. Nếu bỏ mệnh đề này đi, mệnh đề chính vẫn có ý nghĩa rõ rang. Danh từ thường là danh từ riêng hoặc danh từ được xác định bởi : this, that, these, those, possessive adj. (my, your…) Eg: 1. His father, who is a company director, will come here tomorrow. 2. My brother John , who lives in London, is a doctor . 3. Mount Pinatubo, which is a volcano in the Philippine, erupted in 1991. 4.
