The present continuous tense (Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn) a. Form: khẳng định phủ định nghi vấn S + am/ is/ are + Ving S + am/ is/ are + not + Ving Are / Is + S + Ving ? b. Adverbs now, right now, at the moment, at present today, this week, this year… tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, next summer… 3. The present perfect tense (Thì Hiện tại hoàn thành) a. Form: Present perfect Present perfect continuous Affirmative: S + has/have +V3/ed…. Affirmative: S + has/have + been +Ving Negative: S + has/have + not + V3/ed….. Negative: S + has/have + not + been +Ving Interrogative: Has/Have + S + V3/ed….? Interrogative: Has/Have + S + been + Ving? b. Adverbs: - just, recently, lately, already ever, never: yet - since, for so far = until now = up to now = up to the present - It’s the first time PRESENT PERFECT or PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS Present perfect: refers to the result of the present state Present Perfect Continuous used to refer to the continuity of an action. Adverbs: By the time/ Until/ When S + Ved, S + had Vpp. Before S + Ved, S + had Vpp. After S + had Vpp, S + Ved. B. Articles A/an: mạo từ không xác định The : mạo từ xác định. 1. Cách dùng mạo từ không xác định “a” và “an”. • Dùng “a” hoặc “an” trước một danh từ số ít đếm được. Chúng có nghĩa là một. Chúng được dùng trong câu có tính khái quát hoặc đề cập đến một chủ thể chưa được đề cập từ trước. Ex: A ball is round (nghĩa chung, khái quát, chỉ tất cả các quả bóng) He has seen a girl (chúng ta không biết cô gái nào, chưa được đề cập trước đó) a. Dùng "an” trước: "an" được dùng trước các từ bắt đầu bằng nguyên âm (trong cách phát âm, chứ không phải trong cách viết). Bao gồm: Các từ bắt đầu bằng các nguyên âm “a, e, i, o”. Ví dụ: an apple, an orange Một số từ bắt đầu bằng “u”: Ví dụ: an umbrella Một số từ bắt đầu bằng “h” câm: Ví dụ: an hour Các từ mở đầu bằng một chữ viết tắt: an S.O.S/ an M.P b. Dùng "a" trước: Dùng “a” trước các từ bắt đầu bằng một phụ âm. Chúng bao gồm các chữ cái còn lại và một số trường hợp bắt đầu bằng "u, y, h". Ex: A house , a year , a uniform ... Đứng trước một danh từ mở đầu bằng "uni..." và "eu" phải dùng "a": Ví dụ: a university , a union, a culogy . Dùng trong các thành ngữ chỉ số lượng nhất định như: a lot of/ a great deal of/ a couple/ a dozen. Ex: I want to buy a dozen eggs. Dùng trước những số đếm nhất định thường là hàng ngàn, hàng trăm như: a/ one hundred a/ one thousand. Ex: My school has a thousand students.
- Dùng trước “half” (một nửa) khi nó theo sau một đơn vị nguyên vẹn: a kilo hay a half, hay khi nó đi ghép với một danh từ khác để chỉ nửa phần (khi viết có dấu gạch nối): a half share, a half holiday (ngày lễ chỉ nghỉ nửa ngày). Ex: My mother bought a half kilo of apples. Dùng với các đơn vị phân số như : 1/3 ( a/ one third), 1/5 (a/ one fifth), 1/4 (a quarter) Ex: I get up at a quarter past six. Dùng trong các thành ngữ chỉ giá cả, tốc độ, tỉ lệ: a dollar, a kilometer, an hour, 4 times a day... Ex: John goes to work four times a week. 2. Cách dùng mạo từ xác định “the” • Dùng “the” trước một danh từ đã được xác định cụ thể về mặt tính chất, đặc điểm, vị trí hoặc đã được đề cập đến trước đó, hoặc những khái niệm phổ thông, ai cũng biết. Ex: The man next to Lin is my friend. The sun is big. • Với danh từ không đếm được, dùng “the” nếu nói đến một vật cụ thể, không dùng “the” nếu nói chung. Ex: Chili is very hot. The chili on the table has been bought. • Với danh từ đếm được số nhiều, khi chúng có nghĩa đại diện chung cho một lớp các vật cùng loại thì cũng không dùng "the". Ex: Students should do homework before going to school. C. The subjunctive mood 1. Dùng sau các động từ: suggest, propose, recommand, demand, insist, command, order, request, urge, permit, require, move… (1): S1 + V that S2 + should Vinf (2): S1 + V that S2 + Vinf. Eg: Jim suggested that I should buy a car. Jim suggested that I buy a car. 2. Dùng sau các tính từ sau đây: important, strange, funny, natural, surprised, essential, odd, typical, interesting, surprising…. (1): S1 + tobe + adj + that + S2 + should + Vinf. (2): S1 + tobe + adj + that + S2 + Vinf 3. Dùng sau một số cụm danh từ: (1) It is a good/ bad idea that S2 + should + Vinf. (2) It is a good/ bad idea that S2 + Vinf. D. Simple, compound and complex sentences 1. Simple sentences: include one independent clause. 2. Compound sentences: include two or more than two independent clause using And, or, but, so, neither….nor, either…or. 3. Complex sentences: include one independent clause and one or more dependent clauses using When, while, because, although, if, so that) Which: used to refer to the whole idea presented in the main clause and the which clause is separated by a comma. E. Prepositions after verbs Một số động từ thường có các giới từ đi kèm theo sau. ABOUT Agree about sth: đồng ý, đồng tình về điều gì / agree on sth

Double comparison 1. So sánh đồng tiến (càng……..càng): diễn đạt sự cùng thay đổi (tăng thêm hoặc giảm đi về số lượng hoặc mức độ) của sự việc. => THE + ADJ / ADV + ER + S +V, THE + ADJ / ADV + ER + S +V. Ex: The bigger the room is , the better I feel. => THE MORE+ ADJ / ADV + S + V, THE MORE+ ADJ / ADV + S + V. Ex: The more polluted the water is , the more dangerous our lives become. => THE MORE +N + S + V, THE MORE +N + S + V. Ex: The more money he gets , the more food he buys. => THE MORE + S + V , THE MORE + S + V. Ex: The more I think , the more I worry. 2. So sánh lũy tiến (càng ngày càng): diễn đạt sự tăng dần hoặc giảm dần 1 cách liên tục adj/ adver and adj/ adver và more and more adj/ adv được dùng để diễn đạt sự tăng dần. less and less + long adj/ adv dùng để diễn đạt sự giảm dần: S + V + short adj/ adv + er + and + short adj/ adv + er……. Ex: As the summer is coming near, the day becomes longer and longer. S + V + more and more + long adj/ adv Ex: The problem is more more complex. S + V + less and less + long adj/ adv EX: She feels less ans less interested in the contest.
