UNIT 3: A TRIP TO THE COUNTRYSIDE

I. OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the lesson,  Ss will be able to learned about  new topic “ countryside”

II. LANGUAGE CONTENTS:      

Grammar : - Modal “ could” with “ wish”

Vocabulary :     - shrine (n)               - reply (v)            

 - banyan tree (n)        - entrance (n)

III. TECHNIQUES :

Networks, true/ false statements, classification, Slap the board

IV. TEACHING AIDS:

Pictures, tape, cassette, extra- board, books. . ..

V. PROCEDURE:

- T asks Ss to play “ Networks” to talk about what they see on the way to the countryside.

 

 

 

 

- T says “ In today’s lesson, we will study about  activities in the countryside. Now you work  with a partner, look at the pictures and take turn to talk about activities in the countryside”

- Ss look at the pictures and descried them

- T gives the correct answer by answering some questions

- Ss take note

 

 

 

 

- T says “ Today we will hear and read about Liz’s trip to the countryside with Ba’s  family. You find new words”

- T gives new words on the board.

- Ss guess the meaning of the new words.

- T reads new words twice and Ss listen carefully and repeat.

- T checks the words by playing “ Slap the board ).

 

- T gives the structure on the board ( T only talks a little about that structure )

- Ss take note.

 

 

 

- T asks Ss to guess the sentences in part 1). Check True/ false .

 

- Ss work in close pairs , then Ss give the guessing on the board.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

- T says “ Now you listen to the tape twice”  - Ss read the passage individually  before the class ( 2 students)

- Then T asks Ss to read the passage  and decide the statements in a) True or False. Correct the false ones.

- Ss work in small  groups  and then give the keys on the board ( every groups do one sentence)

          ( Slap the board )

 * The structure : “Wish” sentence

        I wish I could visit your village again

      1.She can’t  sing well.

* Guessing : True or False?

 1. Ba and his family had a two- day trip to their home village.

 2. Many people like going there for their weekends.

 3. There is a small bamboo forest at the entrance to the village.

 4. Liz had a snack at the house of Ba’ uncle.

5. There is a shrine on the mountain near Ba’s village.

 6. Everyone had a picnic on the mountain.

 7. Everyone left the village late in the evening.

 8. Liz had a video tape to show the trip to her parents.

 9.Liz wants to go there again.
