Bài báo này, trình bày cách thức triển khai Blended Learning trong khối ngành kinh tế mang lại những lợi ích và thách thức đối với trường đại học như thế nào, từ đó chứng minh rằng nó thích hợp như thế nào trong giáo dục đại học đặc biệt khối kinh tế. This paper attempts to suggest a learning approach that is believed to solve the problem; the blended learning. This is not a new idea in language teaching literature. However, the combination between traditional face-to-face classroom and the application of Internet and communication technology might lessen the burden for the teachers because of the advantages of the learning approach. This paper explores the correlation of cultural awareness and blended learning in which an educator in charge of a tourism class can raise students’ cultural communicative competence together with their understanding of global culture. The results of the study show that the blendedlearning method in teaching and learning ESP helps learners to be completely aware of the extensive cultural issues mentioned in the curriculum in an active and effective way.

A survey was conducted with 102 students from Hue University of Foreign Languages (HUFL) English Department who had opportunity to take part in blended courses. In addition, a focus group discussion was also administered with 10 voluntary students. The findings from this study revealed the general perception of blended learning of EFL students and expressed their positive attitudes towards blended learning.

Because the average students are the prevailing part of the student population, it is important but difficult for the educators to help average students by improving their learning efficiency and learning outcome in school tests. We conducted a quasi-experiment with two English classes taught by one teacher in the second term of the first year of a junior high school. The experimental class was composed of average students (N=37), while the control class comprised talented students (N=34). Therefore the two classes performed differently in English subject with mean difference of 13.
