  1. Period:46 Class Teaching dates Absentees 11A I. Objectives: 1. Educational aim: Students could talk about the celebrations of Tet and other festivals’ activities 2. Knowledge: - General knowledge: - Through this unit, students can express their opinions about Tet holiday in Vietnam - Language: Ask and answer questions about the Tet holiday in Vietnam 3. Skills: Fluency in expressing opinion and expressions about celebrations in Vietnam II. Method: Integrated, mainly communicative III. Teaching aids: Pictures, English textbook 11, hand-outs

Procedures: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Warm-up:(6 munites) Asks students close the book and find - Listen to the teacher words that go with “traditional” in -Find out the words groups Suggested answer: food, flowers clothes, games , costumes Today, we will practice speaking about Tet holiday in Vietnam read individually and then work in pairs Pre-reading: (5 minutes) listen to the friend and give comments Task 1: Asks students to read the dialogue and ask them what points are mentioned in the dialogue - Asks student to work individually then work in groups -calls some pairs to act out the dialogue -Listen to the teacher - Gives suggestions -Answer : 1, picture 1: Mid-Autumn While –speaking :(24 minutes)
  3. 2, Picture 2: thanksgiving Task 2: -Asks students to look at the three 3, picture 3 : Valentine’s Day pictures and work out the name of -1cC ,2aA ,3bB each holiday - Asks students to work individually then in pairs - Walks around the class to help student when necessary - Checks and gives suggestions - Asks student to practice it with a partner - Do the task 3 - Corrects students’ pronunciation if -Compare the answer with the necessary partners - Work in groups Post-reading: (13 minutes) -Ask the teacher if necessary Task 3: - Asks students to read all words in the -Some groups present their answer in task 3 front of the class -Gives the meaning of some words when necessary - Asks students to work individually
